"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

It's late. Gramatical errors will have to be forgiven.

I've been reading alot of TD and my bro and I where walking down the street of this local hangout and this guy started walking next to us.

[At first I'm thinking he's a big brother or something]

Him: "Hey are you two following those girls" (referring to one of the 10's of women walking in front of us)

TM: "Which ones?"

Him:[Points in the general direction of in front of us] "Those girls up there."

TM: "Dude. Which girls....?.What are you talking about, man? We're just walking."

[This is where he starts to get really condescending and I know he's just screwing around trying to be alpha]

Him: "Are you guys picking up chicks? I think you should go pick up those chicks. Those girls are just your age. I'm too old for them. IF I WERE YOU I would go say something. "

[Thinking I'm just going to be a little wussy walking down the street or something]

TM: IF YOU WERE ME, YOU could get any girl you wanted :).

Him: [Gets really hyper and starts spazzing] Oh really!? Let's go find out!"

He chases down the girls and starts talking to some random 2 set and I walk by when my brother stops to check something out right behind where they were talking. I go and hang back with my bro and he points over to us

Him: Yeah! These two guys right here! They said they could blah blah blah. !

They smiled and looked nervous when they were talking to him. I look over my shoulder, when he mentions me and the girl tells him she has a boyfriend etc (almost like they're rejecting HIM).

TM: [smile] Hey, sorry if that guy was being a little obnoxious, (right in front of him, ignoring him basically)
What's your names?

HB:-------
2HB:--------

Him: Blah blah [starts to try and cut in. As of now, I have them faced toward ME, away from HIM, with me looking over my shoulder]

TM: Hey man, it's cool. [cutting him off]

Then I just start chatting with them again and get both their digits as the guy watches from afar.

We'll be hanging out sometime next weekend.

My bro just smiled the whole time because he has been reading about AMOGing too. Thought it was hilarious.

Night.

TMTC

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

You probably hit that sentence with a split-second glance at him and then he was out.

Nice scenario, you gotta love tools like that
