ok if you havent heard a former baseball player Keith Hernandez was wondering why a women was in uniform in a MLB dougout. she was the massage therapist for the San Diego padres. He is a commentator for the New York Mets Baseball team and he basically said he was curious why she was there..and pretty much thinks she doenst belong there.

I played 1 yr of college baseball and I agree...women do not belong in the male sports. It was the only place we had at that time as a sanctuary for men.

I am sick of equal rights crap. This has nothing to do with equal rights. Men play baseball, Men coach baseball, Men teach baseball, 95 perent of TRUE baseball fans are men. This is for us...

anyways the arguement comes down that its OK for women to come into a male locker room because they dont care about sex like men...and MEN are not allowed into women locker rooms like Golf, Tennis, Softball..because we love sex.

thats called SUBJECTIVE. and Women think its against there rights not to go in there..and be there.

men play PROFESSIONAL sports....women have a pro basketball league.

if they want a pro baseball league then start one. or start letting men go into womens locker rooms as well.

100% correct. I played JUCO football and we had to be fully clothed to see the female trainers to get ankles taped, etc. We also could NOT make any sexual comments of ANY kind.

frivolous makes good points. Let's be clear here, so we don't float out in several directions, talking past each other: what frivolous' post comes down to is that women demand "equal rights," yet it somehow always turns into special rights. Ie, privileges.

I don't play baseball, but I found the example interesting. I can contribute with another example: I was in the Homeguard Youth before my military service, and when I joined I had no opinion on women in uniform. Let them join the Homeguard if they can handle the rough tasks, I thought. Just like guys: anyone who measures up to the standards can join. Equal rights, right?

It didn't take long to see that equal rights always turned into special rights. The girls who joined would nearly always give up when the going got tough and the guys got going. The girls would stop and say "This sucks, it's raining and it's cold, we have already walked so long, this is pointless, it's not like we're really at war." They would even make a point out of talking about typically feminine things, to destroy the mood, a gritty mood which was needed to keep going. Imagine being a squad leader, like I was, and have someone sabotage your work like that - and you can't tell her to shut up or leave, because she is a girl and therefore protected from on high.

The two sergeants would give them all kinds of benefits. Like holding them to lower standards at all times, and even giving them rides when others had to walk. One of the sergeants would come on to one of the girls - who was a teenager about fifteen years younger than him. They would lecture us about how we mustn't be "chauvinist."

Later, I did my military service in the Swedish Army. Once there, we could all tell that the women who volunteered got special treatment from day one. It is social democratic and communist policy that there must be no all-male environments, anywhere, and they really don't give a f u c k about the armed forces, and most would rather see them destroyed. So living under social democratic and communist rule, the result is inevitable: any 18-year-old girl who joins will become a corporal or sergeant, or at the very least a squad leader, but that is only if she is really worthless. The only girls I saw were in these positions. (In the Swedish Army, corporals and sergeants are draftees. The ones training the drafted are all officers.)

After a hard exercise, a handful of girls would get one shower room, while half a platoon - about sixty guys - shared another. In another company there was only one girl, and she got the same deal - one shower room to herself while the rest had to cram themselves into the other room. Is that good or bad for the company? If similar things would go on in the field during a real war, would it be good or bad for their morale and efficiency?

I would see girls dodge difficult tasks, and always come up with excuses. There were guys who did this too. But among the guys, these were in the minority. Among the girls, they were the majority. And there was something about them I can't really describe - these girls were always like single atoms, not part of the whole. And these girls had all volunteered, remember, while we guys were drafted.

When you asked them why they joined, they all said something like that it would be "fun," or they wanted to "show they were as good as the guys." I have come across several girls who have been in the army over the years - not a single one of them gave the one legitimate reason for volunteering to an army, that you want to defend your country! Not one of them would have joined if they thought they would have to fight in the future, instead of just leeching off taxpayers' money for a year!

This spring, one of the heads of the drafting office declared that they want to stop the special treatment of girls. Aha! So they actually did have orders to give the girls higher ranks! I had known of that conspiracy for a decade, but it's good to hear someone admit it. The communists and social democrats flatly refused to consider his request; women should always receive special - oops, sorry, equal treatment. If it hurts the armed forces, so much the better.
