"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I think ive seen the light.

YES
ITS SPECIAL RIGHTS.

If I go to the grocery store or anywhere.

and a woman is rude to me..I have to police myself to be calm and nice...as long aspossible.

but if a man is rude..I am allowed to say fyck you.

but since she is a woman i gotta be kind so she can HAVE SPECIAL PRIVALEDGES TO BE A BYTCH.

you cant hit a woman so they have special privaledges to be a bytch about most things in most situations.

they DO not repsect all that man has done for them.

not saying not to treat woman equal or good.but a lot of them dont repsect the millions of men who have died for THEIR FREEDOM.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

I do want to add another point:

Not ALL women are respect-less b1tches, just like not all southern white people are hate driven KKK rednecks, not all blacks are gangsters and rappers, and not all hispanics are illegal peasants. It's just a percentage of each that makes the entire group look terrible.

Knowledge is key. KNOW what you're talking about before complaining, which leads to special rights, err...equal, rights.

...Friv, some of your rage is self inflicted and could be curbed. Who made these rules and why are you following them???

I do agree with you on this subject, I do not support women in male sports or any other male-dominated roles. Nor do I want a male day care teacher watching over my infant daughter or assisting me with a new bra purchase at Victoria's.

Not due to ability, there could be some very talented women athletes and some great male sales reps.

But in sports, men are in it for the game and competition, they focus on the goal to be the greatest and it seems to me women get into male roles for the "point" they are trying to make. Women’s focus tends to be more on the attention they are getting and the statement they are trying to make and not the success of the game or trade.

If you meet a rude sales clerk I feel you should meet her head on, no rules or exceptions made. You are "policing" yourself because you were trained to "be nice to girls". You can break these rules. Physical violence isn't acceptable to either sex, but let the war of words rage, take nothing from someone that shows rudeness and disrespect.
