"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Hi folks. I'm brand spanking new to all this. My problem is I've been, for about the past 8 or 9 years, pretty much a really "clammed-up" guy. I used to just choke around women, almost completely. The end result was that I ended up coming off as aloof, arrogant, unapproachable, cold, etc etc, you get the idea. Being casually distant on purpose for a little while is one thing, but what I was doing was the complete opposite of Game. I was the Anti-Game.

With reading Neil Strauss/ Style's book alot has begun to change, and the "old" me, the way I used to be back in my early 20's, has started to reawaken. But that doesn't mean I don't still need a hand. I do, and very much so. That's why I'm really looking forward to learning as much as possible here.

My main question right now, right off the bat, is something that I think is only barely touched on, and then only for maybe a paragraph or so, in the book. It's "online game". What I mean to ask here is, IS there, can there BE, such a thing as solid online game? Can one be a successful internet dating PUA ? Can solid game be run successfully using dating systems such as Match, or the yahoo personals, etc ?? Has anyone had any success on systems such as that, and if so what is your guys' best advice for writing a profile, following through with the meet up and subsequent phone call BS, etc ??

What he said in the book was that , if I remember correctly, he found the greatest success - after tweaking his profile(s) several times- by coming off as a "selfish prick" in the profile, and then being the complete opposite of that when the realtime meet up actually occurred. But, I've found that, on systems like Match at least, it seems like the females are very very leery of (and weary of) any guy who appears to be running game, or even appears to be a bit too "smooth" of a talker, in ANY way shape or form. They just won't respond, period, to conceited-sounding guys, to guys who sound uninterested in a potential "serious relationship", or , well, to guys who come off as "selfish pricks". And when I think about it, really why should they?? I mean, it's the Internet , after all. Not reality. All "you" are, or I am, to them (and vice-versa) consists of a few pics perhaps and just another profile. There's simply no need for them to deal with you the way they would have to if you approached and opened them in person. Make any sense?? Or have I been out in the sun too long? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

I myself prefer to meet women in person as opposed to online, due to the fact that all the girls I hooked up with from the net had serious psychological issues. Seriously, I think there's a requirement for women to be f*cked in the head in order to make online profiles.

While I will agree that there is no substitute for street approaching, I will disagree about this part.

4. Possibly Ugly
Online game is ALL about the looks.

Online game is actually the EASIEST way to f*ck women if you have the looks.

If you have a good face and an athletic / cut body, you really don't have to put in much effort. Girls see your photo, attraction gets triggered, followed by them putting you on a pedestal and chasing YOU. you don't have to do anything except not f*ck it up (in other words, make sure you stay on that pedestal). If you're in the top percentile looks wise on whatever site you go on, you will get messaged like crazy.

I've hooked up with several girls through FTJ/myspace/MMTO, and I never initiated any of those encounters.

Work out, put up some shirtless photos, and you'll be surprised how many girls contact you.

welcome to my world
I agree with the looks thing, and though I only have one experience that reinforces it...it is nonetheless reinforcement.

A few months, I took someone's tip...I think it was Sexual, who said set up a typical Myspace profile, and just add a bunch of cute girls from your area to your page. I did so, and once you do, it puts you on their radar.

I think I do have a good looking face...but not the body to go with it. Still, I did receive several messages...most were from average to plain looking girls. A few just sent me their phone numbers, lol. Sheesh, I definitely believe it would be pie if I had the body to compliment my face.

But, still, I did manage to hook a somewhat...or at least what I thought was a cute girl to give me a bj. So, it's not impossible, as I once thought, and heck, it happened within 3 days of putting up my profile.

Later, due to boredom from the whole attention wh0re thing, and not getting much farther later on, and getting spammed and almost stalked on aim by ugly girls, I just cancelled my account within a week of signing up.

But Shezzler is right too...don't use online as a crutch for no real life game. Online is actually not "game." Unless of course, you manage to get a date without ever sending her your picture, and in that case, the girl is probably messed up to begin with.

Still, if you are desperate, and want something quick, it doesn't hurt to give it a try...just for a week or two, and don't get too attached to it.

Also, some people here talk a lot of trash about online/dating etc...but don't realize that when they get to around their 40s, and are no longer in college or have easy access to social interactions where they could very easily be meeting new women (outside of clubs/bars), that online will be a vaild option. Not to say that I would be single at 40...but if I am, I'll be probably putting up a profile online in addition to my real-life game. It's not as bad as some make it out to be.

DinoCassanova, it's funny your screenname is actually very similar to a guy here who met his future wife on this very site...and here you asking about online game. I think for more advice, look up posts by Francisco d'Anconia, ie: http://www.sosuave.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74253&highlight=dating+profile, about online profiles. Or this one by Player_Supreme: http://www.sosuave.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60349&highlight=dating
