Senior Don Juan
Hi folks. I'm brand spanking new to all this. My problem is I've been, for about the past 8 or 9 years, pretty much a really "clammed-up" guy. I used to just choke around women, almost completely. The end result was that I ended up coming off as aloof, arrogant, unapproachable, cold, etc etc, you get the idea. Being casually distant on purpose for a little while is one thing, but what I was doing was the complete opposite of Game. I was the Anti-Game.
With reading Neil Strauss/ Style's book alot has begun to change, and the "old" me, the way I used to be back in my early 20's, has started to reawaken. But that doesn't mean I don't still need a hand. I do, and very much so. That's why I'm really looking forward to learning as much as possible here.
My main question right now, right off the bat, is something that I think is only barely touched on, and then only for maybe a paragraph or so, in the book. It's "online game". What I mean to ask here is, IS there, can there BE, such a thing as solid online game? Can one be a successful internet dating PUA ? Can solid game be run successfully using dating systems such as Match, or the yahoo personals, etc ?? Has anyone had any success on systems such as that, and if so what is your guys' best advice for writing a profile, following through with the meet up and subsequent phone call BS, etc ??
What he said in the book was that , if I remember correctly, he found the greatest success - after tweaking his profile(s) several times- by coming off as a "selfish prick" in the profile, and then being the complete opposite of that when the realtime meet up actually occurred. But, I've found that, on systems like Match at least, it seems like the females are very very leery of (and weary of) any guy who appears to be running game, or even appears to be a bit too "smooth" of a talker, in ANY way shape or form. They just won't respond, period, to conceited-sounding guys, to guys who sound uninterested in a potential "serious relationship", or , well, to guys who come off as "selfish pricks". And when I think about it, really why should they?? I mean, it's the Internet , after all. Not reality. All "you" are, or I am, to them (and vice-versa) consists of a few pics perhaps and just another profile. There's simply no need for them to deal with you the way they would have to if you approached and opened them in person. Make any sense?? Or have I been out in the sun too long? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
