"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Trying the same game I did last week when I possibly over-gamed some high-end (read, stuck-up) broad on OKC.

This time it seems to be working with a hotter birdy a rank or two (may be a 7-8 blondie) above the one who rejected my advances last week....

The story so far..... I actually appropriated this techne froma post I saw over at Heartiste:

TMK:
Nice tash! (she has a photo of herself with a fake moustache).
Let's go for a drink.

SexyLass (not actual username):
Ha! Thanks. You don't waste time do you?!

TMK:
No way man! Face to face is way more fun!
Number?

SexyLass:
Haha. True
But you don't know my name yet
(notice the use of the word 'yet'; she wants me and I've done nothing except give her orders and ask for her number before her name!)

TMK:
Also very true.
Name and number??

(20 mins later)

Please....?!

SexyLass: (a couple of hours ago)
Haha. Well, as you asked so politely.....

Now she's playing a bit allusive because maybe she realised how easy she's made it so far. But this for me is how it should be. I'm not spending hours online chatting sh!t with some bird that might never meet me. Cut STRAIGHT to the chase!

I've had to do less work with this one than the one last week, I've pretty much secured the number and at least a date and I've put almost zero effort in to the whole affair.

This is the way life (especially online dating) should be. Straightforward fun, no BS, between consenting adults. Anything more complex and its not worth it in my view.

Will update with results.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Nice work inviting her for a drink at the outset. That's the way I do it.

I never ask them for their phone number. I let them accept or reject my invite first. If they accept, I say, "Great see you at ____ then." They will usually (not always) offer up their number without my even having to ask.

Ha! Nice.

Gets me thinking, try telling one to meet me at (time) and (place) and see if they turn up; ratchet the intrigue and mystery right up to 11. About as independent from outcome as one can be.
