Was talking to a female friend of mine, we both live in a smaller city that's about an hour drive from the closest BIG city. I typically don't have qualms going to the big city to meet people, socially, dating, etc. but...she avoids the city like the plague. She can't stand it.
Now many people have admitted that to use OLD dating as a supplemental to real life socializing, but in her case, when I told her that there's not much going around here as this is mostly a family-based community, there's no "chance" of meeting an available person...well, that at least has all their teeth. lol. When you go out, it's mostly families and couples at county fairs, art festivals, or whatevevr small town community event that's going on.
There's no approaching a woman in public, because she already has a wedding band on. Things like that.
She finally said, "Well, I guess it's back to online dating then."
I think this explains a lot of the same spinsters I keep seeing year after year, locally that's never responded to me. lol. They remain permanent fixtures of the site.
