Why was this thread closed?

It was, IMO, getting started.
More importantly, iqq hadn't responded yet to specific threads yet--which she usually does, both those deserving and undeserving.
So I was following three different conversational threads seeing what others said and looking for what iq would reply with, and even about to jump into a reply myself when the jarring "Thread Closed" jumped up.
Some threads--I AGREE!--degenerate hideously and go on waythefvcktoolong. More than once I wondered why the mods didn't step in and kill it 3 pages ago!
But this thread was killed too early, and I would kindly ask that it be re-opened.
I liked iqqi's original post. It was an interesting situation with interesting results and showed someone struggling with what thy were doing. It was someone laying themselves out, knowing they'd get flamed but doing so anyway.
And the replies were engaging and interesting, some of the "whatever" variety--the typical mix you find here and then some (which, despite recent rants, is better than 90%+ of postings on similar sites to this.)
I'm not sure that the "thread closed" procedure is, but I would suggest that it takes the vote of 3 mods to close a thread. Their discussion should remain internal--that's their right as mods. But a post of their collective opinion on closing/not closing a thread I would personally find facinating. Seriously. Most have been here awhile and I regret their reduced participation since becoming mods--it's happened with everyone I've seen who's become a mod. But I know they're still very involved. Run the site -- yes --- and I understand the need to be firm with certain members here, but cracking down on the few miscreants is beginning to impinge on serious, dedicated members here.
Let's reconsider--both mods and members.
