"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I got into this situation and I am wondering what you guys around here would think.
So I was out on in the city this week, to a bar/club, where I noticed a very nice petite lady. I walked over introduced myself and did the typical small talk, she seemed to be enjoying it.. Because I just got into the place I excused myself and went back to my friends, as I knew I would bump into her later. Also I was a bit intoxicated.
So an hour or so later I see her at the bar with friends and I go over and start chatting, same drill make her laugh touch and so on. Now I go in for the number, saying she should give it to me so we could have a drink sometime soon. To which she initially refuses saying "she does not give out her number". In my head I'm like fine and not really giving too much ****; so I respond with a "are you sure?". She looks me up and down, and says okay. So I give her my phone she enters the digits, and we pretty much part our ways.
I know the # is real; I send her a text msg this week and nothing.. (Will try once more later, after that I am done) I'm just curious why give out your number and not reply then. Any thoughts?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

She didn't want to give her to number to you in the first place because she wasn't interested. She's not replying because she's not interested.

The only reason you got it was to make you go away. Its how women handle most things in life. She didn't want to tell you no for fear of upsetting you and
causing an uncomfortable situation.

Get used to it!

This, all damn day. Just 'cause she give you a number doesn't mean she's interested. You only really know she's interested when you contact her and she responds to it; then, you know when you ask her out and she either says "yes" or gives you some passive response about not being able to meet up for x-reason (i.e. "no"). Until she picks up the phone or goes on a date with you, don't assume she's interested.
