Yet another death stab to Superman. He will no longer defend Western/US values..
I could swear they did away with the "American Way" part of "Truth, Justice, and the American Way" decades ago. I mean, honestly, Superman is a global product at this point, so I can't really blame them for not wanting the "American Way" on there. This probably helps them sell to foreign markets. But my gut feeling is there are some Woke creeps behind this, and they're doing it as part of the "America is to be despised" narrative, and so for that I'll have to say they can kiss my @ss.

Saw this as an appalling follow up to the story. Apparently DC Comics has recently run a story where the original Superman, Clark Kent, was exposed to red kryptonite, captured by Russians, and sodomized for eight months. The guy who wrote this is heavily into identity politics and wants to humiliate "white males" and symbols of the US. The thought is that this is one of the things that will lead to Clark stepping aside so that his gay son Jonathan can take over as the new Superman.

There is talk of doing something similar with Batman. These are what people are doing with comics these days. It's no wonder their sales are in the toilet.

Comics, cartoons, anime, video games, k-pop, etc are for man children.

I used to be into the scene when I was a kid and even up to my later teenage years. I looked up to these imaginary heroes and edge lords, and I would often pretend I was one as kids often do. There's no deeper meaning to their stories though, because they're not real. It's all a fantasy where everything just clicks into place. The real world is not at all like that. It's cruel, and unforgiving. Whenever I faced a challenge in my life, I would withdraw into these escapist fantasies, and distract myself from my problems. I think this is where a lot of (gen alpha to millennials) men are right now, where instead of finding real outlets of creativity and enjoyment they turn inwards and revert back to childhood. Marie-Louise Von Franz, a psychologist that worked with Carl Jung, wrote about this in her book. She referred to them as Puer Aeternus, or "child god" because they believed themselves to be forever young.

Before someone laments about how it's okay to "like, have fun dude", sooner or later, there'll come a time where "having fun" just isn't good enough. If you want to achieve anything of significance you have to acknowledge reality and face it like a man. If you don't, then the world will bend you to whatever shape it desires, you'll flow along with the current and one day be swept away. I remember a passage I read recently by Amor Towles, "Man must master his circumstances, or be mastered by them." I can think of no better time this could apply than today. How do you set an example for your woman, your family, or your friends if they have to stomach watching the person who's supposed to be their superior watch f*cking cartoons. This is the "man" you have to rely on when times get tough, the same one who makes some cringe pop-cultural reference and can't cook his own food, how can anyone respect someone like that?

Maybe this doesn't effect everyone the same way it did me, but I spent my whole youth playing video games, jerking off, and watching retarded cartoons, and I hadn't met another guy who wanted to hang outside until I was a junior in high school. Our parents thought they were keeping us safe, I couldn't go an hour without my mom buzzing my phone about my location. Digital media, while a remarkable resource for acquiring information, unavoidably turns into an evil form as a propaganda tool to herd sheep and keep them mindlessly engaged in mind-numbing tasks. A bit off topic, but in will Durants book, "The Complete Story of Civilization"as well as J. D Unwins study "Sex and Culture", both found that civilizations who were less sexually permissive had experienced greater technological progress and marks of "higher culture", and what had led to their eventual fall had been the loosening of standards from a stricter monogamous state to a more liberally permissive state of being until they were conquered or collapsed into nothing. What we're experiencing now was going to happen eventually, but digital media has only accelerated the decline.

Makes me sick. I have no words.

I’ve never been one for conspiracy theories, but sometimes it’s hard to believe that there isn’t some entity that bears ill will towards masculinity pulling society’s strings.

They’re not REAL?!Dammit!!!Why didn’t anyone ever tell me?!?!!

You may have had certain difficulties growing up,but don’t put it on comics my guy. I am and always have been into them, and I still pulled. There are around 7 guys on my football team who are into them as well.

You might be generalizing a little bit.Not everyone into them is some frail/overweight incel weirdo who couldn’t buy a date. They may not be everyone’s thing, which is very understandable, but the characters, stories, commentary and themes portrayed have always been interesting, and with all the Marvel and DC movies dominating the box office, more people are starting to realize it too. It’s not just children in these theatres lol.

There was a time when dragons and ancient kingdoms were considered the realm of the nerd, but everyone loved Game of Thrones right?

This is interesting. As always, nothing is black and white.

I use my brother who is good with women and a similar vibe to my late grandfather (a beta bucks but also manly/alpha if you know the type. He’s alpha until his wife makes him submit which she did whenever she wanted. Therefore: not alpha imo)

anyhow, my brother doesn’t play many video games, is very social, good with women, yet in a real life threatening situation he’d be lost. I’m genuinely concerned for him in the days ahead as he doesn’t seem to think ahead, still works as a cashier at the local arcade/movie theatre (because those are never going out of business eh?) and he’s completely drinking the liberal kool aid.

contrast to me. Working on trying to become self-sufficient, love video games, porn, and cartoons or tv shows. Decent with women who are 5-6.5 but can’t get the hotties my brother can. But guaranteed he couldn’t protect any of those girls from any thing. He’s shorter than me,and skinny like the famine has taken him or like one of those prisoners found at auschwich.

so again, it’s not so black and white.

That's why the context of the term is important. It sounds like your grandfather was alpha in male dominance hierarchies. Which leadership is a part of. While being beta within intersexual dynamics.

Your bro is the opposite. An alpha with intersexual dynamics, but beta within male dominance hierarchies.

I hate to say it but there’s nothing about my grandpa I found admirable or worth following. My whole family is a lower class “virtue of poverty” mind set. It seems one can be alpha in that world, as for me, I want no part of that world so I am omega at best in all worlds, I aim to become sigma.

My brother is a mommas boy yet somehow has been able to be good with women. Yet another thing that flies in the face of conventional pua wisdom. Wasn’t it David Dieda who said one had to be free of their mother to be good with women? Yeah, I’m about as free of my mom as I can be. Yet my brother is always hanging out with her. If I didn’t know better I’d say they were dating. Yet I’m the one struggling.

a lot of the pua “wisdom” is completely untrue ime

I get what you're saying, but for someone like me who's spent most of his life staring at a screen, I think there's more to life than watching men in tights perform impossible feats like jumping over buildings or some beta hero rescuing a damsel in distress from a dragon (literally white-knight), especially when there's plenty of real life stories that are just as incredible if not more so because they actually happened. It's just lame. If we're talking about escapism, I'd rather have had gone out with my friends to play a round of football than sit around a tv all day. That's just my opinion though, you're entitled to your own aswell. kc0jcvje7a451_50.png

Got to be honest, that bit of "conventional PUA wisdom" doesn't really make any sense to me. I mean yeah, you don't really want to be a mama's boy clinging to your mother's skirts. But being able to interact with a woman, even if it's your mother, should be at least some preparation for dealing with women on a daily basis. I guess the reason they don't want you to be a mama's boy is because they want you to be able to stand up independently on your own. That part I would agree with.

Yeah I suppose but most pua stuff my brother violates. Save for the socializing. Everything else he’s a “beta” by pua standards

I can't say I'm surprised. Everybody's different. Fitting into PUA standards is a narrow little box to fit into. PUA gurus have come up with a specific "type" that will work for a fair number of guys with a fair number of women. But people are more complicated than that. Your brother obviously has charms of his own that he knows how to work.

Agreed. I’ve tried to pick up in a few but it’s genuinely a mystery to me sometimes. Like we can be at a diner and the waitress is clearly smitten with him even tho neither of us has said a word up till that point

Are you analyzing his facial expressions and body language when females are in his line of sight?

Yeah. Slouched, eyes down. Looks at the girl from below like a puppy instead of directly, soft/quiet voice, does have an aura of confidence somehow tho
