What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I had a door-to-door sales job once going to businesses. My boss, who was very good at the job, told me that he seeks out businesses with signs on the door that say "no soliciting." He explained to me that people put these signs on their doors because they were easily convinced by salesmen, therefore they were the best prospects. Women are like that, too.
The moment she said the "most guys just want sex" I would have said (while laughing) "Oh, sh!t. I'm gonna have to take you back home 'cause I was in this for the sex!"
You counter her sh!t test, subtily let her know you want, and like sex, and radiate your "I don't give a sh!t because you're not special" attitude to her.
If she takes you up on the ride back home she's done you a favor by saving you from wasting your time and money.
BUT.......
She's the one that brought up sex first......
She's the one that was thinking about f*cking......
Had you just challenged her stupid test and not been the "oh so different from the other guys white knight" you would have probably been in her pants that night.

Ok, great input guys.
Here is what I think is the main problem: I simply didn't have a contigency plan for the statement "most men just want sex".
During each phase of my interaction with a woman I am going to start to have a contingency plan based on what they say and I will respond accordingly.
For example one contingency plan for if they say "I just want to be friends" could be something like "oh no worries, you are ALREADY in my friend zone" (teasingly) or something like that which will throw them off and allow me to come at them from another angle or whatever.
If they say "I dont want to give you my number, I just met you" or something I'll have an answer for that too.
My biggest problem that night was, I believe, being unprepared. First date in awhile; I was a little rusty and I'm not going to beat myself up about it.
I also think she MAY have said that because (unbelievably, lol) she WASN'T that into me. And I think its due to my having low energy lately. I think my next search on here and possibly next post will be in regards to having higher energy levels and more charisma. I honestly felt sleepy that night and wasn't overly fun or exciting from what I recall...haven't had that *spring* in my step lately.

NEVER take a girl you just met to dinner, that is like third, maybe fourth date. Take her out to drinks, kiss her at the end of the night. ALWAYS KISS HER. Never be afraid to show you want sex, but do it in a challenging way. Act like you don't need it, but will fuvk her brains out at the first opportunity. You have to let some time pass before you have sex with her. Women love the anticipation. She is searching for a man who will make HER feel like wanting to have sex. What she is actually saying is; "They went too fast, I want a challenge.". BUT YOU HAVE TO KISS HER. Kissing is a message to the opposite sex that you want her.

If a woman tells you she just wants to be friends, it's not your cue to toss in some ****y and funny line hoping she will change her mind on the spot. What it is, is a sure sign you messed up the interaction with her, hence the friend zone.
After she says something like that your pritty much done for.

Seriously - Some of the responses are good with how to turn it around, but the lines are delivered from a guy who encompases the whole package, if you try them, they will backfire, mark these words.
Edit - your on the right path, at least your willing to learn, that seperates you from 99% of the other guys out there.

We can all sit here and tell you what we THINK she was saying or what she meant by her statement. but if you wanna know the REAL reason why you were LJBF'ed its simple..
its because you catered to what you thought SHE wanted. you did things you thought SHE would enjoy. You played it completely SAFE.
at what point did you go after what YOU wanted? did what your inner self really wanted?
