That answer wasn't in her best interest. If you don't want to tell your age, just tell her something like "My age doesn't make me more or less interesting, so why don't we meet up and you can base me on my personality instead of a number?"

First, I would forget everything DD and Mystery have said. They are just marketers. As far as anyone has been able to verify, their success with women is no better or worse than an average guy with no "game" statistically. Besides, the idea was more about in person such as at a bar when a younger girl asks your age with the idea that she was screening you as being too old.

Your situation was in text/internet where everything has to be toned downed so as not be misinterpreted. Plus she was an older chick so no reason to assume she was screening you as being too old.
