"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Hey guys,

I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere (about 1500 people), so dating can be...difficult. However, I'm trying hard to be a DJ so I'm not giving up!

I do need some advice and some support. I'm hiring a friend from college days to come up and work with my kids (I'm a teacher). She's a HB7.9 and I used to have oneitis over her. We all know the familer story, so I won't reitterate it here except to say that I totaly broke off contact with her for a year before talking to her again.

She seems very interested in coming up and working with my kids and even suggested that she spend the night at my place instead of my school picking up a hotel room for her. I've kept contact at a minimum with just one phone call and 2 internet chats (both under 15 mins, I'm proud of myself) to tease her and try out some of the material on this site.

I'd put her interest level at around medium.

I need to know if this is a good idea or bad idea. Am I setting myself up for disaster?

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

Out of the billions of women out there that you could've started fresh with why did you hire one that already has preconvinced ideas about you?

Your not setting yourself up for disaster if you can keep on open mind that nothing may come of this.

I do have other motives than some stinky pinky in hiring her. As isolated as I am, it's very difficult to find good people to hire on spesific instruments. Despite my feelings towards her, she is one of the best on a budget my school can afford.

To true. The best way to move forward is to throw out the rearview mirror and drive the car.

I'm begining to agree.

Which makes me wonder if I should just get her a hotel room and not let her sleep at my place like she wanted to.

Don't go all asexual on us now.

You've laid the tracks now. You have to follow them to see where they lead.

Ok. Thank for the kick to butt. I'm not a neuter and I won't act like it.

I need some help coming up with 3 or 4 quick, simple guidelines to follow while she is here.

I'm thinking along the lines of

1. Don't talk so much

2. I'm out of ideas...

Help?

Act
Be decisive. No. "I don't know" or "What you you want to do?". If you say you'll do something... do it.
Bring her to you a good start. If anything is to happen you will need to initiate it.

Live In The Now
Living in the past is boring. Whats past is past and whats done is done. There MUST be some fun/interesting/exciting happening NOW.

Don't Be Afraid Of Her
Tease her. Touch her. Disagree with her. This in no way a rude to her.
