"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

I was dating a waitress in a bar (Sarah) that my friends and I hang out in frequently. This past Sunday while working she sat by me to talk and the bartendress came by and asked me "where's Carrie (a girl I took to lunch the day before)" right in front of her. Everything went cool that night, so I thought, but she seemed somewhat distant after that comment. The girl I took to lunch is just a drinking buddy and I don't have any feelings for whatsoever. However, I think Sarah may have took it the wrong way. You see the bartendress is a good friend of Carrie's and I think she told Sarah that we hang out a lot and went to lunch the day before. We do hang out, but just as friends - there's no intimacy there. Now I call, text and email Sarah (once each), but she doesn't respond. She's ignoring me. Gut instinct tells me she's upset.

So the next time I go in the bar and she's there, what would be the best play? How should I act? Ignore her back? Try to reason/explain to her what's actually going on (I may not be capable of this)?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

No, don't reason with her -_-.
Even better, don't bring it up.
Just be normal, say hi, don't try to ignore her.

No don't try and explain anything. Just be a fun guy to be around. No need to ignore anyone - you haven't done anything wrong.
