Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Hey there.

I think this is my first post. Been peeking around for a few years.

Im currently half crippled, my right hand in a splint with a fracture, broke it boxing.

I was out last night and two guys pulled out knives at the train station, while Im standing there sopping wet with my arm in a garbage bag. I scared em off.

Anywho, I went to get a burrito today and there's this lovely young waitress there. I saw her first three weeks ago, and went there every sunday evening to get myself dinner. Every time I go down there and see her, she seems really happy to talk to me, but there's always these old mexican ladies behind the counter giving me the evil eye.

Tonight I went out there to get myself dinner and get her number. We talked quite a bit, but the two old ladies never moved. She liked the story about how I broke my hand, so I mentioned the guys with knives. She was getting handsy with me, telling me she liked going into the city and I should go out to such and such. Said she wasnt married and didnt have any kids. but I chickened out and didnt ask her number, the old ladies right there. I left, she looked really disappointed.

So, Im scared of old mexican ladies more than I am of morons pulling knives on me.

Any thoughts? She told me she closes mondays so I might stop by tomorrow.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

I'm glad I'm not alone. Old Mexican ladies give me the spooks too. :L
I'm afraid the only thing to do it to block them out from your focus completely. Try to think they're not watching, because, they probably aren't (Or perhaps they are, but either way). Besides, you've a lovely girl to give your attention to instead.

Handsy is good.

yeah, I feel like a cowardly little ****.

I can try again, but she was laying it on thick tonight and she looked disappointed when I left. Shes 23 and I dont wanna get her in trouble at work. They have a patio outside, Im thinking mebbe Ill use that as an excuse to get her away from the hags, order my food and wait outside for her to bring it.

Any other thoughts? I think Im gonna have to just ignore the hags.

Went back Monday, she wasn't there, but I found out when she closes. Went back Teusday, and caught her with just the grill cook. Got her #. Wooo

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

About 5 years ago I lived in what was then the most dangerous city in the US. Not going to give it away, but you can look it up if you want. I've had knives pulled on me a couple of times, and a gun pulled on me once. Big ups to you for scaring off two dudes with knives while you have a broken arm. Most of the guys who whip them out are cowards, but every once in a while you will get someone who will use it. One of my good friends fought back to one of those dudes and paid the price with a broken jaw and a couple knife wounds. Scary sh!t.

These elderly ladies are nothing. They probably don't even speak English to be honest. Just ask for the girls number when you get the chance. If she says no, just chalk it up to female craziness. It seems as though she wants a piece of what you're servin, so just play it cool. Good luck dude, and watch out on them streets.

Edit: Didn't see you got the #. Nevermind.

lessee how it goes. I been meeting a lot of ladies recently, which has been great.

I took up a bastardized local aikido about 4 years ago, since I was spending a lot of time in the city late at night so that I could draw. I try to play as smart as I can, but the stuff goes on around here is frightening.

Its not heavy training, mind. Pick your teachers carefully. Know enough that when the situation DOES arrive, get the other guy on the floor and hurting and then run like hell. lol

Its hard to generalize. What I do isnt traditional aikido. Its intended to be practical. Effectively, you learn a few maneuvers youre really comfortable with and grow skilled at them, and learn to use them effectively from anywhere. I love this, for example...

Its a judo move

Im a heavy guy, though. Boxing is probably really great.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
