"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

If that story is true about Billy Joel, he looks pretty bad with that.

That seems like grounds for immediate divorce in a marriage, but too many women would not file for divorce immediately after an incident like that.
I'm sure it's true, if it weren't he could sue her for slander.

He has taken responsibility for all the chaos he caused and they are still on friendly terms and she also wrote she has the utmost respect and admiration for him.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

They are on good terms.

They only had one kid together and that kid is 39 years old now. They might still need to interact for the daughter's birthday and maybe a holiday season gathering.

Oops my bad, I thought after I responded you might have meant that!

Anyway after you said you loved it, I looked it up online and it does look like an interesting city. A lot of history!

But agree, great song.
It’s a cool town. A city build almost entirely on the back of Andrew Carnegie and US Steel. I hope the AI boom comes to them like it just did to Pittsburgh

The things I learn here... ;)

I've never spent any time in Pittsburgh either; I've only driven past on route to Cali.

I've been to Philly though! PA in general has tons of history.

SoCal in comparison does not and is becoming a real drag. I was never meant to live here.

One of my brothers lives in eastern Connecticut and I'm actually thinking of moving to Boston or Rhode Island.

We’ve all been there

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Big Shot is a funny song

We Didn't Start The Fire is the most Boomer thing ever though

And of course, Boomers had to give it Song of the Year at the Grammys even though it's prob the worst thing Billy's ever done. (And by far the weakest song that's ever been nominated for that award, let alone won it).

Dude was on fire from '77 (The Stranger album) through '83 (An Innocent Man album)

Lol @ Big Shot.

A bit of trivia and possibly rumor but it's been said he wrote that song after a date he had with Bianca Jagger.

In that case the song should've been called "Big Mouth"

Dude was on fire from '77 (The Stranger album)...
Wish I could have seen him in concert.

This may be my favorite...

Well, we all fall in love
But we disregard the danger
Though we share so many secrets
There are some we never tell
Why were you so surprised
That you never saw the stranger
Did you ever let your lover see
The stranger in yourself?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Shout out to all you Dads. Especially those with daughters.

Billy's daughter Alexa Ray joins him on stage during his last concert in Madison Square Garden in 2024 singing "To Sir With Love."

She refers to him as her "hero," not sure how he was able to keep it together but it was a lovely tribute from daughter to dad.

Joel is an aberrational instance of an incel-tier man that was able to mog the sheet out of most everyone with his music.

He has a few songs about trying to spin game, "Get It Right The First Time", as well as taking the Black Pill, "Captain Jack".

Billy Joel was born in 1949. Height was not judged as harshly in his young adult years as it is today. That said, his 5'5" height would have been a negative even in the 1960s-1980s mating environment.

Prince (born 1958) was only 5'2".

Billy Joel and Prince both needed to have exceptional talent to make a lot of money in order to get laid.

A 5'5" man does not date women in the 5'9"-6'0" range without being wealthy.

People in NYC (where Joel is from) are generally a little short anyway.

@MatureDJ You should consider NYC/Long Island/Jersey. You won't be as short and you can take delight in all of the wonderful Italianas there. Buon appetito!

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
