Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Ok here's my situation on the last day of school I gave this girl in one of my classes a ride home. We had a great conversation in the car and before I dropped her off I said i'll see her next year or maybe over the summer and before i could ask for her number she was already writing it down for me.

Anyways the next night I texted her and and she gave me obvious signs that she wanted me to take her out. she said stuff like "you should take me sometime : )" and she did it multiple times and started flirting with me pretty hard. Anyways I asked her out last Wednesday to hangout and she had cancelled on me telling me she stayed out late and her mom got upset because she didn't let her know she was staying out. I got a friend of mine who knew her to tell me that infact she wasn't flaking on me for no reason.

I brushed it off and a few days later I asked to set up a day to hangout today. I sent her a text saying i'd call her once i'm outside her house. anyways she sent me a message saying that she had gotten called into work and that she was sorry.

It seemed like she was really into me with the way she was texting me/talking to me in the car. I haven't sent her a single message since she sent me the message saying she was busy.

My question is what should i do from here if anything since i'm still pretty interested in this girl.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

She's prob just busy. I would freeze her out for like a week. If she's interested she will prob shoot you a text. If she doesnt get back to you, either just move on or throw out a last chance offer to hangout.

But TELL her what you two are gonna do. And make it cheap. Like coffee or just going to the park or something, dont put any money or much efffort into it.

Again, idk how many times you talked with her in the class. but if you guys have an inside joke or something you can tease her about, try to tie it in

You asked twice already. She knows you want to hook up. The ball is well and truly in her court.

Basically any more chasing from and she'll take you as her own personal puppy.

SHE has to initiate next contact. Without that, you have no IL.

Interest level depends on how she feels at any given moment. She can be a flirty little mind when she's at your side, but cold as ice on the phone when her period starts.

Either way. Let it sit. Go hit on other chicks and become busy yourself.

It's not an offer to meet up. It's not even a decent apology.
I would ignore. However I understand the temptation to reply and to that end if you really MUST.

"K"

No more. Just "k".

Let that hamster get up and running.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Then maybe say nothing. It's not like she came back with I'm busy, but let's try next week or something.

If she's interested, she'll follow up again.
