Need some help on style.

Ok, in case you didn't know, I'm gonna completely change myself over the summer, and come back to school a completely different person. One thing I have trouble with, and I don't mean to sound gay when I say this, is my hair. I have really shaggy, crappy, hair that I want to change. After searching for a bit on something that might look cool on me, I've come up with this:

I dress punk rockish, and I like the style, and if you don't like it well then you can just **** off. This haircut may look really gay to some of you, but to me it's the greatest thing since bottled milk cool: ). But that's my problem. I really think it's a cool thing (and I hate to bring back the metrosexual bull****), but I don't want to be ridiculed because of it (ie called a f@g). So an opinion on this would be great. Thanks.
