You need to stop wasting time with this woman and start dating other women. You naturally would spend less time around her and she would take notice. It would also prevent you from doing lame things like this.

Ironically, I think things would be much better if I did this. She didn't earn my attention and I gave it for free, making myself look pitiful.

In my attempt to do something good, she actually lost respect for me.

It's why they tell professionals to never do work for free. It won't be appreciated, and you won't be respected because you didn't demand to earn your worth.

It was lame I know. The thing is, a lot of things people have said here are intuitive, and my gut feeling told me what I was doing was stupid.

I guess it's still hard for me to understand that women like having orbiters and controlling them. Maybe because I personally would never string along or use anyone like that.
