bored and browsed through many profiles both male and female. hot chicks have it easy. they could post the most simple pix and bam! their profiles are cool cause they're hot. us guys on the otherhand, it doesn't matter how good looking we are. i sifted through several male profiles and it's easy to distinguish the dudes who pull the chicks from the dudes who don't get ****. you can tell mainly by the comments section.
in my opinion, the comments section is the most important part of your profile. you can make yourself appear you have high value by posting cool pictures or writing a slick summary about yourself. but if you have little or no comments from others on your profile, it will to some degree contradict the image you tried to create.
myspace profiles can work for or against you. if you're hitting up a new girl, i suggest not to reveal your profile unless you know for sure it will increase rather than decrease your value to her.
if you have a profile with a bunch of comments from a variety of different people, especially different girls, people will have a positive preconceived idea about the person you are. girls will become more attracted to you because you apparantly have high value.
and i laugh out loud at dudes who post pictures of themselves playing some instrument in the comfort of home. those pictures scream, "Hey look at me! This picture is a desperate attempt for you to think I'm cool because I'm playing the guitar!" If you post pictures of yourself playing with a band at some venue, now that's a different story.
i also laugh out loud at dudes who post pictures of themselves with no shirts on. since we all get turned on checking out myspace girls half naked, some dudes are under the impression that girls will also get turned on seeing a hairy tanned chest. nope, it doesn't work that way. guys and girls are wired differently. girls get turned off by those pictures. ask any of your female friends and they'll attest to this. and if you ever posted a picture like this, hopefully you're gay. i hate to gross you out but this is true: gay guys will be the ones checking out and getting turned on by your hairy tanned chest. fact: the vast majority of people who buy playgirl type magazines are males, not females ( learned this from david d's advanced series)
