I recently started a lifting routine and started a high protein diet. Now I knew ahead of time that a high protein diet makes you not have the best sh!ts, but mine have been god awful lately. Nothing but brown colored water, and it comes all of the sudden. What should I do to help alleviate this problem?

lay off the protein for a while and consult with a doctor before starting again

I have a high protein diet and I don't have what you're describing.

You didn't eat just whey powder did you?

And yes. Consult a doctor. Don't be stupid.

some people call this diarrhea. go back to your previous diet, get re-hydrated before you kill yourself, and add protein back in only slowly. milk and whey shakes should be at the top of your list of suspects.

I only have one shake a day at most. I drink plenty of water (about a gallon a day). I think what I'm doing wrong, after some research, is that I'm not getting nearly enough fiber. So it's time for me to go and buy some oatmeal and see if it helps!

Yeah if your having 1 scoop a day, you shouldn't be getting this.

Eat your veggies, and mabye add in some oats to your protein shakes.

Protein powders have been mentioned, try keeping your protein sources mainly whole, eggs, beef extra, is a good idea.

Simply from the extra amount of calories and food though it puts strain on the digestive system. Most people are deficient in hydrochloric acid as it is, with the extra food it only makes the problem worse.

I would highly recommend getting some hydrochloric acid with pepsin if you are trying to gain muscle.

You can do this test to workout exactly how much you need:

But even getting some and adding it in and making changes over time will work.

You could also have food allergies, although that probably isn't the problem if the symptoms only started after you increased how much food you eat.
