It's just something I noticed. My quads are a lot bigger and more defined than my hamstrings, yet my hamstrings are still a fvckton stronger even though I hardly work them at all (squats barely utilize my hamstrings). I'm thinking it's genetic because my brother said he noticed the same, but I don't know. Maybe I'm just overthinking things. Are your hamstrings naturally stronger than your quads or nah?

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Hams are normally naturally "weaker". However due to shape, some guys hams may "pop" more from the rear. IF you feel it's imbalanced, put in some ham work. Leg curls, glute hamstrock raise, lunges will get you those developed athletic looking hams that aren't on every day joes.

It doesn't bother me, I'm just wondering how I could get the rest of my body to get stronger without actually being big, just like my hams are. I guess you could say I'm aiming for that 'wiry' strength.

Get enough protein without getting too much "fuel" ( carbs ). Have enough to power you thru the day but not a lot more. Lift and excersize and you will grow. Amino acid supplements help. It takes time to put on meat.

If you get too much fuel, you will get fatter. You can gain mass without getting "fatter". You just have to tune in diet.

But that's the thing, I don't want any more mass at all. I could just lift and get bigger without getting fatter. I burn more energy than most people do, so I could get mass without the fat fairly easily. I'm just looking to be like one of those freaks who are super strong/powerful but skinny as heck somehow. Strength without size, like those third worlders. Like CNS development I guess.

I've been looking for how to do this forever and I just don't know how. I heard stories about how meth essentially turns off the body's limit so some people commit great feats of strength and endurance while on it. I have not ever done meth nor will I ever. But how can one turn off the body's natural limits? At least somewhat anyway. To get stronger without getting bigger is my goal.

For you to look stronger some NEW muscle will come on, IE: pounds.

No I mean I don't want to LOOK stronger, I want to BE stronger. I want to get stronger WITHOUT getting bigger.
You'll get a little bigger. Or some fat you have now will come off replace with harder muscle. You don't have a lot of fat on you, but there is some. You won't be "too big" if you gain 10lbs in strategic places. Imagine how much meat 10lb of steak is.

Ok that's fine. My main goal is to just be a lot stronger than I look. I'm comfortable with my physique right now. I always focused on strength whenever I exercised, any differences in looks was just a byproduct of training. Anyway, thanks for your input.

Could be genetic. A lot of people have disproportionately weak hamstrings due to posture problems and muscular imbalances, usually from sitting too much. Consider yourself relatively lucky.

No offense, but that is pretty terrible if your hamstrings are stronger than your quads...honestly that is kind of embarrassing.

Your quads should be roughly 2-3 times stronger than your hamstrings...they are bigger muscles. I have stacked out the lying leg curl machine before, but even still, that's only 200 lbs or so. I have squatted almost 2.5 times that much...

I'd really start focusing on your quads, that just shouldn't be.

I think its genetic. I work my quads so much more often, I rarely ever use my hamstrings to begin with. My muscular endurancw in my quads is a lot better though. Just nor strength or power.
