"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

I still respect her as my mother but she gets angry real fast and today she was asking me to do something in the most ****ed up tone you could imagine.

I tried to atleast keep my cool and said "couldn't you said that abit softer mum?" Then all of a sudden we both were arguing, I just went to my room and listen to the radion while she does her usual ranting that goes for atleast half an hour (these things had happened before).

I know the post might not make sense cause this comming from a 14 yr old so bear with me. Do you guys have any ideas what I should have done ?

May be I shouldn't have said anything at all back, but I know my mum well and she walks over people who she thinks she can walk on. How do I give her respect the right way ?

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Is she always this way? If not, be extra nice to her when she's not. Like if she cooks a meal or does laundry, say "thanks mum. I really appreciate it. Let me know if you need help."

Just be nice to her. Is she a single mother? That can be hard...for both of you and just try your best to help out. You responded pretty well for a 14 year old and I'm surprised you're thinking about making it better. Good job. You've got potential.

You might have been the first person that she thought she could put down, but proved her wrong. The first time it may be hard. But explain it to her. It's probably hard while you're 14, since you don't have the physical attributes to kind of make a presence. It's ok. For now, just make her feel appreciated and she will probably feel like **** if she does that to you again. I can't guarantee anything, but its worth a shot.

good luck mate

When youre young and growing up, you only see the world from your own selfish perspective, and you dont relate to, or care about, what your parents think or how they feel. When youve grown up you truely REGRET how you treated them because you actually see your parents as people with their own feelings and issues. So you begin trying to make up for what an immature, selfish a55hole you were. Trust me on this. Be the world's most mature 14 year old - and treat your parents like someone who has done EVERYTHING and ANYTHING for you.

I agree that you have potential! You see a problem & want to fix it, good for you!

It's not easy being a Mom. Just yesterday you were that cute little 7 year-old with messy hair and skinned up knees. Now you're nearly an adult, her baby boy is growing up! She knows you can put on your own bandages and comb your own hair. You have a mind of your own, you're maturing, and you don't need her so much any more.

Every day she reads in the paper or hears on the new that some other 14 year old died from drugs, got his girlfriend pregnant or took a gun to school. She wants to protect you and guide you....but she realizes that isn't working so well.

This is very frustrating for a Mom. And naturally, when you're frustrated, you get pissed off very easily. When you calm down, go talk to her. Tell her you don't like fighting with her and you want to avoid it in the future. Explain that she doesn't HAVE to snap out orders like a drill sargent, that if she just says: "Honey, would you please pick up your room?" that you WILL, INDEED pick up your room.

If she doesn't want to talk about it...hey, at least you tried! Good luck!

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
