So today was Father's day. I'm going to skip over the attempt my ex made at ruining the day when I picked him up for this extra day. Things must always come at a price, and sometimes I wonder if it's worth the hassle. Today it was, but let's just say 5hit's gonna be flying tomorrow...
I took my kid to "family karaoke" night. It was pretty dead there which was fine. I played a bit of pool with him and signed us up for a couple of songs he knew. Since this was his first time, I went up to help carry him if he needed it. He didn't need me for very much
The kid's 7 years old. He can sing pretty good for his age. He can read all the words on the screen. He can keep a beat. He's easily better than many of the people I see get up and sing. But what got me the most was his confidence. Dude grabs the microphone, and he's a friggin' natural with it. "Hello Everybody! This is a song called "Here Comes The Sun" and he just goes to town singing The Beatles. After he's done, the crowd claps for him and he says "Thank you very much" and takes a bow.
This 5hit absolutely blew me away. The kid's confident and he's a natural leader. He's gonna need a pretty damn big stick to beat the women off him when he's older.
