Alright, I best start this. The reason for this is to help me get where I want to get and achieve my aims. Now I tend not to like writing things down, so if I don’t post here for a week, id appreciate a kick up the bum. It will be long and boring, but will help me. U dont need to read this unless you have spare time.
Now I apologise to those I have been unable to recently help in their questions, I have been very busy. I just finished my AS levels, which are like half of my final exam marks.
The reason I have been driven to start this, albeit a day later than I wanted to is because of a trip down to Exeter university for an open day.
Now the university trips are swarming with hotties and I always kind of feel out of my element. The journey there was three and a half hours long. The way out I had two people come sit opposite me over a table, I always steal two seats, sit in the outside one, bag in the window one. It’s a good principle for travelling on public transport. Anyway I had a mum and daughter, neither of whom was fit and who were obviously travelling down where I was. Anyway I was gonna speak to them, but a) they looked unfriendly b) I did not have enough nerve c) I had a hell of a lot to read/do anyway.
But afterwards, I still feel I should have talked to them as it would have been good practice and maybe made it more interesting, plus you can always learn new things from people. Lesson 1 learned (due to regret), again go with my first instincts, something I always tell myself. And SPEAK TO PEOPLE.
Anyway after that I got there and decided to walk up to the university because I missed the first bus (it was too full as I had gone back in to inquire about my tickets). Plus I like walking and I need to lose weight. Anyway I got there and was amazed at the number of girls looking around, plus sign (I was later told by my m8s, it has a rep as a girls uni, its goin on the shortlist
).
Down sides of the actual day at the university, despite meeting a friend and speaking to girls in the sixth form there, I only really hit on one girl, in the law lecture (maybe bad timing) and she kinda blew me out, just wasn’t really interested in speaking.
Anyway I walked around a lot more and even walked from one train station to the next as I was bored waiting for the train on the way back.
When I got on I did the same trick, taking two seats by the rare tables, unfortunately (or fortunately) I sat down with my back in the direction of travel. This meant that a mum and her daughter came and sat down opposite me, lucky me, the daughter was in the aisle again, therefore opposite me, legs together under the table (not much room). She was around a 7, but she was cute and my type.
Alright, im gonna cut this short as its taken me three days to write this much, as im lazy and very busy.
Basically I spoke in monosyllables to them a couple of times. What I really wanted was for the mum to go to the toilet so I could strike up a conversation with her. However, only the girl went, I think she was on her period as she got a little bag out of her rucksack and took it with her (they were very nice modern toilets). Anyway, later I realise it does mean she is interested in me as girls are least sexually receptive (biologically) during their period. See observation and knowledge are very useful.
Anyway after about half an hour she put her headphones in, kinda blowing my chances as it would have been hard to speak to her. However, then she kept taking them off and looking at me. Throughout this I was feverishly racking my brains to think what to say to her (Note to self: say anything it doesn’t matter). I asked the mum the time and stuff when the girl was not there (I needed to know it) but for two hours I sat there kicking myself, not speaking to her, everytime I thought of something to say she would put her headphones in, aargh. Eventually while I was re reading lots of stuff she started talking with her mum. Ten minutes or so into it, she mentioned the DoE award, something that I do, so I joined in the conversation and spoke to her for an enjoyable half an hour. During this time I must have had awesome social proof as I kept getting rang, even by my teacher. I felt I had connected with her, she laughed at my jokes, me and her made faces to each other. All in all awesome, although I think I could have got some more kino in, bearing in mind our legs were so close.
However, when we are about ten minutes from the final stop, I began thinking how to get her number. Her mum had kept herself included in the conversation so I felt a bit awkward. I was just deciding to ask her, when the girl stood up and started to pack, I was confused. Then we pulled up at the stop before and they got off. As she was doing so, I was killing myself for not getting it, but still didn’t want to ask in front of the mum. And couldn’t find my pen, damn it.
Alright, sorry to inflict this, but I feel I need to do this as otherwise I will forget my lessons.
Lessons I learned, just say something, anything, get her talking.
Get the number, close it.
Don’t get intimidated by others.
Speak to people.
