My interaction with a hot woman today/When does one REALLY miss their shot?

Today I went to a local smoke shop to play chess with a male friend. Right behind me was this hot woman around age 30. Before that I crossed the street behind her. I walked quickly to the smoke shop. She entered in after me, and I bought a soda, and she bought some cigarettes. She said: "You had your chance."
The thing is, I never noticed any IOIs/signals of interest from her.
My question is: When she said: "You had your chance", could I have used THAT as an IOI and then approached?

If so, it sounds like this "chance" she mentioned refers to something other than your prospects for accessing her underoos

We hadn't started playing chess yet. I definitely should have said to her: "I don't get it." Who knows what that was about.
