Hey guys

Been plowing along now for awhile, and last week my bench press was a little weak, combine that with some failed assistance movements, it's time for a deload week.

Wondering if it makes sense to deload a certain muscle group (chest, shoulders, tris) and keep hammering away at legs & back in the same week?

cheers

Makes sense, remember that some muscle groups will fatigue sooner than others depending on how much they are worked.

Either way will work depending on how your routine is setup. You can deload everything and give your entire body a rest or you can do particular muscle groups.

CNS overload. Alternate exercises.

Week 1: barbell bench press
Week 2: dumbbell bench press
Week 3: hammer smith chest press

It's also a good idea to take a 1 week break every 8 weeks.
