Fair enough. I don't think she minds chatting however, because often its her starting the conversation. But I do get the point about persistence not changing anything w.r.t. attraction.
Also, if not trying to get with other girls, what other practical suggestions do you have to get over a breakup?
Well you're doing the right thing by discussing it. There are a few (only a few) people I've seen on this board give good advice. Try other mediums as well. I, for one, used to be a LAME in high school. Since then I've dated hundreds of females, thanks to the stuff I learned from other guys (and a few females) who were "THOROUGH" with game.
One thing I used to do all the time (and still do) is really observe people. When I used to take the bus or hang out at the mall, I would watch the way couples interacted with each other. The way a woman gazes at a guy that she likes or the way a woman acts uninterested in a guy on the first date. Occupy your mind with learning body language and other nonverbal signals females give. I posted a very deep post about ways to tell if a female is interested...if you can search for it, find it and look for those signals when you go out.
Getting over a breakup is all about TIME and OCCUPYING your mind and body. Getting women on the side helps too, but the main thing is realizing that your next woman is ALWAYS BETTER than your last. Realize that YOU are the prize. TIME takes care of its self. To occupy your mind, learn from others, read, and give yourself positive affirmations. Also take up a new hobby or improve upon your talents--this will also increase your self-confidence.
To occupy your body, work out, eat healthy, concentrate on your grooming habits, and consider revising your wardrobe.
Repeat as necessary and know that as you get older, your options WILL increase.
In the meantime, whenever you talk to a girl (in person or online), if she says "no" or "I'm not interested", either laugh at her or look at her like SHE'S crazy and walk away/close the chat window. Again, persistence will kill your confidence and in this instance NEVER pays off.
