Just broke up with GF of about 4 months only two weeks ago. I had moved to a new city and jumped into it way too fast. Totally understand what happened. Honestly my situation couldn't possibly mirror this thread any more, overthinking and all:

Well she finally got chased away, we know the story. Few days later I find I am relocating back to my old hometown, work is transferring me back.

When it broke off I figured after the craziness of back and forth died down we may see each other again somehow. I know I was in a new city but I was WAY caught up on this girl.

Admittedly I acted like a complete a$$hat but now that I am leaving none of the relationship stuff matters.

I really want to just see her one last time to make amends, I leave town in 10 days.

How should I do it?

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

tell the truth, you're leaving FOR GOOD in 10 days.

let her know that you had some crazy times together and want to end it on a 'good note'

doesn't matter what you say, it will not fail if you say: "I'm leaving in 10 days"
that will be what she keeps hearing

I guess you can, but uh...why? You dated her for 4 months, not 4 years. Who cares?

I wouldn't bother.

Just hold the memories you had and let it all go, move on with your life. You don't need closure because you will have gotten that in the aftermath of the break up.

There have been times where I want to get in contact with my exes but I never do, it's not worth it. You're just asking to relight a fire and that's never a good thing.

Suck it up and move on. :)
