The book was described as an "immoral book" representing the art of love as "the adulterer's art rather than the husband's art" by Irish writer H. Montgomery Hyde in A History of Pornography. But the book won the praise of Renaissance humanists.

I plan to acquire it and I will be posting any interesting info.

Ovid has some ideas, but it's nothing we don't already know, like making cold approaches and dealing with rejection.He goes into detail about getting at married women by seducing or becoming friendly with their personal slaves and maids.

For it's time this was pretty controversial stuff, in the context that the emperor at the time was very family values(sound familar to anyone),anyway Ovid eventually got banished to the sticks were he died alone.
