"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Models: Attracting Women Through Honesty by Mark Manson

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

True, everything is performative.
Since about the mid-10s or so, large sections of The Manosphere have had their own versions of

When we encounter gunt-bearing neckbesrds, who walk around in public rocking cartoon Ts and cargo shorts + Speak almost exclusively in Red Pill Jargon , they're signaling they're membership in a subculture

Similar to hippies who claimed to abhor conformity, even as they themselves looked and sounded remarkably similar to one another

Mark Manson used to post at a private forum I used to belong to. Back then most guys were PUAs who had to hide behind game and techniques and manipulation. So his idea of being authentic was profound - but only within the scope of a community of former nerds who had to learn manipulation.

In the real world, most high status men don’t have any problems being their authentic high value selves. His idea of “challenging conventional advice” was just challenging PUA advice. Back then no one in the nerdy PUA community knew how the hell regular dudes seem to get laid with ease.

It’s a very low bar to set. An analogy would be you were a trauma victim who found a secret society of master manipulators. This society gave you your power back. But you were still relying on manipulation. And then someone comes out of nowhere and writes a 500 page book about how high status people don’t need to do any of these things. In the world of former trauma victims, this author is the KING.

But if you are well adjusted, you would look at it like “Yo I run this. Who is this doofus to tell me I shouldn’t be ashamed of my authentic self? My authentic self is leagues beyond the average dude.”
Great point. This is why I keep saying keep leveling up financially spiritually, mentally and ofcourse physically.

Four huge counter pillows that will take a full lifetime to master. And most men/ people won't ever master all if them . Even with just one you can be somewhat successful in life tho..

Your authentic self means you are not " just" yourself, your PROUD to be you! I do agree that most dudes fail there already. Oftentimes heavily influenced by how women react to them.
It's a catch 22 hence why a man can be financially sound and yet be spiritually / mentally weak AF.

If we say authenticity = honesty, then ofcourse you will models through it. You will attract EVERY kind of woman basically.

What are your thoughts on MM's conceptualization of "autheticity," specifically?
One can act authentic, but it can also make you look like one is trying too hard to prove themselves. That's not a good look.

Fake it til you make it still rings true. One never wants to show his cards.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
