"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Attraction: To arouse or compel the interest, admiration, or attention of

Desire: To wish or long for; want.

Eliminate desire.
Approach because you are interested.

Can someone elaborate on this?
When you approach, is not your ultimate motive desire? In the end, you approach because you desire to have an intimate relationship, and sex, with a chick. I'm a little ambiguous on this...for the moment. :p

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

That is your answer right there.

The way I see it, Desire and Attraction are very closely related, but Desire is simply attraction spun wildly out of control.

Because Desire is so out of control, it can lead you to be out of control. It can make you do things you shouldn't, and return you back to the wimpering little AFC that many of us started out as.

I'm not saying that Desire is a bad thing, but you need to keep it in check, or else all the horrible things talked about here can happen.... oneitis, AFCness, and many hurt feelings (mainly yours).

Here here. I was amazed at the progress I had made during the fall semester this year while talking to the ladies that came in to eat where I work. But now it's all gone, I went from simply being interested to flat out feeling like I need this one girl.

The academic part of my mind that has read though this forum keeps telling me to forget her but the rest of me says no. Keeping your interest under control is vital to being successful, or at least staying sane.
