"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

So I'm taking this girl too homecoming tonight, I know this should be in High School forum but I want to have some advice from the older guys cause they've been there or cuase there parents.

From what my she said(me and her are 'seeing' eachother) her dad is not friendly at all too boyfriends or guys in general. She didnt talk to her ex bf until 3 1/2 months into the relationship and he was forced too. I get to meet him tonight for pictures and I was wondering if there is anything I can do that can leave a good impression. I'm generally good with people so I probably won't have a problem meeting him. But I want the guy to warm up and for it not to be akward.

Any suggestions?

Also, me and her are going out to dinner tonight(she made reservations already). Is it OK for me too pay for dinner cause she bought my Ticket to homecoming? Or should I have her pay for the tip or something? I don't want to seem like a AFC but I don't want to seem like a complete prick.

Thanks

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

The best way to understanding is first, respecting whatever some other person does and believes, apparently, you've passed that.

Now, the second way, is to get in their shoes. He loves his daughter very much, and the very thought of ANY guy even holding her hand, makes his veins pop and gets him crazed up. Period.

What you must do is go there with all humbleness, be TOTALLY respectful, but not in the way a kid is to his boss, but in the way a prince is to a king, quiet, acting like a man.

The paying thing, it's a post itself.

hey,

i agree with Pendo.

I have met a few parents in my life. They are very easy to crack open.

I go with finding out small things like what he likes and draw comparisons together between the two of us. Like if he likes fishing, I would start to talk to him about fishing stories. Find his hobbies and create a conversation. Or find out more about what he does. Take a genuine interest in getting to know him. People never do this anymore. They always have alterior motives behind things. I cracked a very good looking girl yesterday evening by saying that. Believe me, people are very easy to crack for them to open up.

good luck.

I want to talk to the father and get to know him you can say. But I don't want to sound fake and all happy cheery. I think he'll see through the fakeness of people trying to suck up to parents?

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.
