"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

So, I messages this girl on PoF. She replied, told me how cute the picture of my sister and I is and how much she likes my uniform (I'm in the navy), talked about the weekend and work. There were ten messages all together, including the opener and the number.

So I text her almost straight away:
Me: Hey, it's Tim from PoF x
Her: Hey sailor :) xx (she took about 40 minutes to reply so I took an hour to respond)
Me: hey, I'm gonna go to sleep now because I have work tomorrow. I'll text you if I get a chance though [genuinely mean that. I'm on some counter terrorism exercise most of the week]. night x
Her: okay then :) Yeah, please do :) Night, sweet dreams. X

So I reckon I'll wait until I finish work at noon, then gym it up and try to set something up for through the week. My text game is atrocious, though

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Maybe I'm doing this wrong, but I really don't have "text game". Especially when it comes to those online dating sites.

Me and the girl will have 2 or 3 email exchanges. On the very last message I'll say something like, "We should grab a beer some time this week. Here's my number. What's yours?"

Once I have the number, the only "text game" I use is, "Hey it's Iceberg. I was thinking we should get a drink at (Bar) on Thursday. How's that work for you?"

There were ten messages all together, including the opener and the number.
I mean, to be blunt, after 10 messages, what more "game" is left? You said all that you could possibly say via electronic communication. The only thing left to do is MEET and see if you like each other. At this point, in my experience, the WORST thing you could do is "game" her via a new form of communication. Know what I mean? Like, after POF game, you graduate to text game...So what's next? Facebook game? Twitter game?

In summary: No more game is necessary. Either this girl wants to meet or she doesn't. Invite her out. Game her in person.

Exactly what Iceberg and Bradd said.

Have a plan to meet up. No time for twitter texting or running some nonsense game on text.

One, two, three emails on POF. Grab number. CALL or text to setup meet. No time to let them 'think' or get comfy playing texting tennis.
