Yeah you have the looks to do- primarily for print
If you want work in any such industry, you have to be resourceful.
First thing is you need a portfolio. Go hire a photographer or go to some glamour photo studio and get some snaps done. Mind you, that will be expensive. We are talking 3 to 4 digit $$ cost here.
Then it comes down to simple issue of finding an agent. There are lots of modelling agencies around- some are specific, some take anyone. Make sure you know what kind of modelling you want to get into too- catwalk, still photography, etc. Do some research on the matter, and shop around. Dont take the first thing you get offered unless it happens to be really good- those agents can get awfully anal about contract details and stuff so watch what you sign. Get to meet some people in the industry already, specificially other models- male of female- and ask around waht the best/most reputable agencies are for the type you are looking for.
I'm an actor so i deal with bloody agents quite a bit- but im assuming modelling agencies are hardly different.
First rule of thumb is to get a agent interested in representing you. You pay them to get you work so you bloody well want them to do it. Most acting ones charge between 5 and 10% comission on your work, so im assuming modelling is too.
Some agencies represent a lot of different things- models, actors, singers, extras, yadda yadda. You'll get work with them, but you'll never get anything big. Usually extras work in the local soap. Try go for an agency that only does models.
Some will also ask you for an up front 'joining fee'. Dont be duped- if an agency really wants you, they'll sign you up for free because they know you'll make them money.
Then once you'r booked in, just make it a habit of calling every so often to pester them about any work thats come in. This gives you a name around the office, and makes them want to forward work over to you first to shut you up.
Oh- and male models (at least here in Oz) have to be between 5'8 and 6'3- otherwise they wont take you: period. I got rejected because i was 6'4. Tough world, but if you're actually serious about it- give it a go.
Oh and be prepared to be stereotyped as a pretty boy airhead. Good luck man.
