I'm curious if the guys here who proclaim to spin multiple plates with women do so with their male friends as well.

I have a number of male acquaintances but few I would call "close" . This pandemic hasn't helped as those I had were guys who participated in weekly leagues and events with.
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

One or two close male friends, one or two more close female friends, (some of which I’ve dated, some not), and a large group of male acquaintances. I feel pretty good about myself friends-wise and I can have just as much fun with them as with a girl on a date.

Unsure which option to choose.
Most people I know are beyond the acquaintance level (I'm old and lived in the same town for a while) but I find most of them usually uninteresting. I'll still attend their social events, but as people, I wouldn't miss most if they moved away.
I have five friends that I genuinely care about.
