"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

this type of thing seems to always happen to me. Everytime im with a girl and its up to me to make the first move, it just seems so awkward. for example, theres this senior girl from another school that i work with, and after work tonight we went cruisin around for a while, and eventually she called me out sayin that she didnt think i had the balls to make the move. (im a sophmore by the way). after a while we came to a parking lot with a perfect view over the town, and we started makin out for a while, but it just seemed really awkward goin into it. does anyone have some good advice on how to not make things so wierd?

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Do it before she calls you on being too scared.

Stop thinking so much. When you even get an inkling to phas-shift or make a move, DO IT. Don't hesitate, and don't stop. Remember, seize the opportunity or lose it.

Get a little buzzed alcoholicly (still able to drive). This will stop the thought that makes you afraid. After a while it will come naturally and you won't need it anymore.

If you made out with her, it means she likes you and that should give you the confidence you need anyway. Next time, surprize her with starting first. After awhile, you will become emotionally callosed and it won't feel awkward anymore. Just force yourself to do it and in time it will feel natural.

Why does someone always suggest alcohol to bypass your inhibitions? If you can't do it without alcohol to begin with, what's gonna happen some day when you aren't buzzed and need to make the move? You won't be able to do it, you gain a dependence on alcohol, and before you know it, you're an alcoholic.

Damian has the right idea. Just do it. If she doesn't want to she will stop you, but odds are, unless you really misread the signs, she will be into it.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

They suggest it because for inexperienced guys it can help them out. If you're a shy, inexperienced guy it will make you a little more confident to go in for it. Once you have one or two experiences of doing it with the aid of alcohol you should be able to do it without it. Unfortunately though, you're right, some people do take it too far.

It is not being dependent on hiding behind drunkeness. Alcohol is like a training wheel to see what it feels like to not be afraid. Once you feel what it's like then you won't need it anymore.

Ive been drinking or on x (not promoting it) just to get a lil buzz. I must say that i have had surprisingly good results, the mac just comes out of me.Yesterday, while being sober, me and my homeboys were walking through college appts and this fine thick mixed girl was by a door. she looked at us nice, and then decided to come out and stand outside to have a smoke. While i was walking away i just kicked myself and said **** it.. just do it and walked up to her, said blah blah and i got her number. So my 2 cents is that if done correctly drinking a bit just to get merry isnt bad and it can help the inner mack come out while being sober.
