I've been hearing alot of these... free weights VS machines debates...

My question to this thread is... can I still gain as much muscles on machines as free weights?

Free weights work the stabalising muscles at the same time. For concentration exercises, machines are an option. Core exercises ie:bench press, squats, use free weights. It boosts strength, power and mass

Machines are good if you are nursing certain injuries. Generally most machines are poorly design and can fvck you up. Smith machines and most leg press machines especially.

In reality though, I think for many people they don't have much option. I'd go for the 'garage gym' approach any day of the week, but some people just can't do that, or face a real spit and sawdust gym with roided bench hoggers.
