Hey all,

Wondering what people's opinions on lunges are? And what the differences between them and squats are?

Please don't just give me the 'SQUAT SQUAT SQUAT' and the 'squats are better' which I know will come...

Cheers.

lunges are potentially very useful, esp. in a situation where you can't / won't squat. you're moving weight through space, which is never a bad thing. the same dangers apply: don't let your knees go forward of your toes, and move slowly until you've got the form.

The difference is that you can't lunge as much weight as you can squat.

Kind of like how 35 lb kickbacks aren't going to do much compared to a 250 lb close grip bench press. Ok, not that extreme.

Better are squats.
