Love at first sight does not exist. LUST at first sight, yes. Love, no. In America, we have a very immature idea of what love is.

Love at first site means that you would care for that person under any circumstances despite the fact that you have only known them for a nanosecond. If they got in a horrible accident and needed their colostomy bag changed on a regular basis, you'd do it. If their face was burned off and they lost all their beauty, you'd still love them.

In high school, we had one of those "real life" days where people come to school and talk about drugs, pregnancy, etc... One of the people who came was a gay man in his 30's who had AIDS. His partner was also dying, and was in the final stages. He described for us the ways he had to take care of his partner. It wasn't pretty. To this day, that relationship is my definition of the word "love."
