How do I get it back and how much does pass word recovery go for at the average pc repair place?

Gmail is an online service. Google has your password. Go through the "forgotten password" page on G-Mail or something like that.

If you can't recover it that way, then its gone. Google has excellent security provided your password is good and not something like "123456".

Why can't you just go through gmail password recovery and reset the password? They will send a link on how to do it to your secondary email account provided when you created your account.

I forgot the security question I think the local pc guy will fix it for 85 bucks is that right?

No but he gave a an estimate and said he can retrieve it

Could it be same password you used for other accounts? Then you can retrieve password from that. Another option is if you used another computer and are signed into google on it. Then you can change your password. Perhaps you are signed into google on your current computer, just not gmail.

He can. But he gonna go to google, click on password recovery, when it asks a recovery question he'll ask you.
