Many of you, I am sure, will have negative comments about what I am about to reveal to you.

In the past there have been a lot of posts regarding the personality vs looks debate, and the one aspect that was left out of this (disregarded if you will) was the one of physical size and muscularity.

I myself am fairly good looking, 26 years old, but look about 22. I was fairly skinny (70kg/155lbs, 1.8m/5'11), although I had worked VERY hard for what I had. Consequently I was fairly well built and defined for my physical characteristics, although I would be put in the skinny category by most people.

However, I always had the feeling that women never took me "seriously". You know, good looking, but somehow not even the guy with a chance, purely based on the fact that I did not feel nor look like a man, but more like a "boy". I am sure several people here can identify with this feeling.

Being an athlete, about 6 months ago I began researching the issue of steroids. I have always been health conscious, and before even looking at some of the stuff out there, I decided that I would not try any steroids that would harm my health in any way.

What I did find, is that there is a general misconception about steroids. There are some (rare) people who would easily qualify for the village idiot, who try anything without doing any research, take triple dosages, and end up fvcking themselves up. When this happens, it is of course a media frenzy with every fact blown way out of proportion. Never mind the fact this moron took triple dosages. I mean really, if you take too many painkillers, you'll hit the dust as well, right?

Having then done research for 3 months on the best steroid available for me, I decided on two of them, Equipoise and Sustanon. I decided I would take approximate half dosage as I did not want to have any ill effects (just in case). I took these steroids as they were particularly researched to cause no harm over the short term, and to produce keepable gains with minimal side effects. I had the correct post treatment on hand, so I would lose all the gains I would get from it. I went to a doctor once a month to have bloodwork done, to check that there were no abnormal patterns.

I will put in here a note, if you do wish to do any steroids, it is at your own discretion. Some people don't like it, tough, I do what I like. The most important aspect of steroids is doing the research, and setting predefined limits for yourself.

So, now 3 months later. I finished the cycle 1 month ago, recovered fine, gained 10 kg (22lbs), and lost 2 kg (water) after stopping steroids.

Guess what, I'm still alive and kicking, and feel better than I ever have. My bloodwork is completely normal.

Now, for the whole point of this post. Previously, I used to talk to women, and I had to be ****y and funny to get anywhere near her. If I was friendly, it just didn't work. I'd get the cold shoulder and that was it. On the other hand, my friend who looks quite a bit older, but in most ways is an immature idiot reels' em in. Go figure.

These days I can just be myself, do what I like, and fairly often women come and talk to me. I have toned down the ****y part, and realised that just being interested was enough in my current situation. I am comfortable with the way I look, I feel safer if I were to be in a conflict situation, and miraculously, I have not had problems with people trying to fvck with me as they have in the past (arrogance/challenges/chest beating etc at clubs).

Perhaps this is an improvement due to an increase in confidence, but I must admit that any confidence I gained from this was by positive feedback INITIATED by women. Thereby one could deduce that this is not true confidence, as it is dependant on factors beyond your own control.

Unfortunately I have also come to realise how shallow MOST women really are (not all..read most). Fact is, I myself have not changed much. I always used to work out hard, and try to look my best. But guess what, it really wasn't "good enough". I didn't fit into most women's image of a real man, and thus, based purely on physcial qualities, was disqualified as a potential mate.

Don't fool yourself, or have yourself fooled for that matter, by opinions that women are interested more in your personality than your looks or physcial attributes. They are equally biased as men in this department when initialliy selecting a partner, although this may change when looking for a long term potential mate (ie she wants to use you for security...doesn't feel good, does it...).

Looks matter. Physcial size MATTERS. I am able to logically deduct that purely based on my experience, as the only thing that has changed in the last 6 months for me, is 10 kg's of muscle. Nothing else. Stop being retarded and believing in Momma's saying that personality overrules all. You just fool yourself.

Let the ranting begin... :)

You had to use steroids to grow? Talk about lame. Even suggesting steroids are good is just plain dumb.

But ofcourse looks and muscles/size matters, it's just not essential.

Zircon,

Using steroids to get women is really sad, I'm sorry.:(

I do understand what you feel, I'm 24 and look like I'm 19 or 20, and I'm VERY SKINNY by American standards (5'8/1m74, 140lbs/ 65 kg). But know that it's just our metabolism, you should feel lucky that we have a "younger" metabolism that basically burns everything we eat.

Plus from my clubing experience, the muscle/size thing somewhat matters, but it's really NOT that important, provided that you are really a "fairly good looking guy" as you claim. (You need something to make a difference right?:D) I think most of it is just in your head.

But I do agree with you under one very specific circumstance. From what I've noticed at my local dance club, the girls fall more easily for guys who are more of their body-types. Let me explain:

1.The tall girls usually are more open to the tall guys.
2.The thin girls are usually more open to "skinny guys" like myself.
3.The well rounded ones, not the fat ones, but those who have big boobs big a** and a lot of "meat":D on their body usually prefer big guys.

So if you are skinny and you always go for girls of type 3 who are shallow, then yeah the steroids thing helps. But really, is it worth it?

Ok...just read the first line in your post...using steroids to get WOMEN!!!??? Do you think I have 500 odd posts and have learnt NOTHING here?

End rant ;-) I am an athlete, and decided if I wanted a serious chance, I would have to do it at some stage. I've taken calculated risks, and they have paid off. What I am describing is the SIDE EFFECTS of growing larger more muscular...and at the same time trying to dispell the myth that steroids used responsibly will destroy you. Utter crap.

Roids for women? Thanks but I have more self respect than that.

You say the dangers are a myth, but have you seen the state of steroid users (former bodybuilders, wrestlers) once they clean up? Many of them are totally out of shape and totally unfit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but once you bulk up, you need a lot of work to maintain your shape, otherwise your body turns to crap.

If you were not bulking up by doing your usual exercise routine, you were probably not working the muscles hard enough, so unless you start doing that, I suspect you're not going to like what you see.

“The 22 Psychological Triggers That Make Women Chase You… Starting Tonight”

Forget the cash, the cars, and the chiseled jawlines. Female desire operates on a completely different frequency. Primal. Subconscious. Triggers that bypass her logic and hit her on a gut level. Most guys are totally blind to them.

I know because I was one of them. The overthinking. The paralysis. The silent drive home kicking yourself for freezing up. Watching average guys walk away with the girl while you stood there stuck in your own head.

Then I decoded the psychology behind what actually makes women tick. 22 hard rules.  Subtle behavioral shifts that rewired my entire reality. The anxiety evaporated. Women started leaning in. Investing. Chasing.

Howdy Dirtheart,

Thanks for the reply. First off, 99% of these socalled bodybuilders have used:

1. Substances which cause tremendous growth for a couple of weeks. Discontinuing causes a dramatic loss in size, and strength, which forces the user to become dependant on the substance.

2. They choose substances like Anadrol, Dbol, and all kindsa crap which is in fact really bad for your liver. They can do that, I've done my research, got my gains am happy with it and that's that.

Of course we have yet to see whether we will see the gains, but so far it is not a problem. My appetite has increased correspondingly, and this allows me to consume more, making me able to support my newly found size. Additionally, I recover faster, and am able to train harder than before. And this after discontinuing use.

Look, perhaps it is the wrong thing to do. I don't believe everyone is responsible enough to use AAS to their benefit. As I said, it requires boundaries to be set.

For me it has been a good experience, and I have no need to do it again. I think that speaks for itself. I am probably in the minority though.

Anyway point being - if you're scrawny, it's not easy. I used to get picked on by mofos a lot, now not anymore. And to be honest, I'd rather have a great life for 60 years, than a slow and boring one for 80. You?

I understand your point. I don't know what it's like to be really scrawny, but I was very overweight during my teens and it was hell. If I could have taken a pill to lose weight at that time I would, so I can't criticize you. Besides, there are enough people damaging their health with alchohol and nicotine and seeing no benefits for it.

So while I do see your perspective, I'm happy with the way I look these days so it's not something I'd try myself.

I dont doubt looks do matter. Because a long time ago I was overweight, had acne and had no style. How many woman did I get over about 4 years? 2. Now, I have lost the weight (amaizing how your facial structure returns), got my skin totally cleared up (now I get asked by woman what I use to keep my skin so healthy), always have my hair cut well, and wear good clothes. In the past 4 years I have dated/been with over/around 70 woman (including some stunning and famous models/actresses). LOOKS DO COUNT. Although as a result of being better looking, I also gained confidence. Which added as a positive loop.

However, I am 5'11" and always fluctuate between 70-76kgs. Depending on my training (boxing), and depending how cut up I want to be or can be fuked to be. I dont find being those 6 kgs lighter causes me ANY difference with the ladies.

As long as you are lean, fit, take care of yourself, wear good clothes and get a good styled haircut, I think physically u can be confident with yourself. The rest of it comes from the inside.

Of course steroids is illegal... Unless...

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

1 year ago i was 133lbs
i am now 150lbs

as a result of on and off weight lifting and eating more (a sort of half-assed effort at diesel's guide to bulking up)
and i always thought i had the fastest metabolism ever

i am sure i'm going to make it up to 160lbs and more by the end of the summer... without steroids of course. whey and creatine are enough for me

Everyone is dissing this dude. It is horriable. He came with an experiance and wanted to share it. Take it for what it is.

Judging by the above posters reaction they have never taken roids.

However, I have and I am going to agree with the first guy. Simply put when you are on steroids you are more "manly" than you normally are. How could you not be. This is preaching to the chior but chicks like "manly men". When I was on decca and d-bol for 6 weeks I walked around wanting to kick every guys ass and **** every hot bitVh and that was what mattered in my free time. I was constantly pissed off and like it.

The world is diffrent when you are on steroids. No doubt about it. Everything revolves around the fact that you are the man.

Furthermore, chicks had a totally diffrent reaction to me in everyday situtations. I didn't do a darn thing and they just liked me more, noticeable more. It was like a weekly shot bidaily pill cured my AFCdom. I repeat, as far as I know I did nothing diffrently around girls that I did before the riods, but they responed better. Honestly it gave me insight in women much like it did the first guy. I see women diffrently purely because I took steroids. I don't think I would have ever gained that perspective of women without the roids. That sounds fVcked up and it is. But that is reality.

And in fair warning please do research before you decide to take anything and buy them for someone who has a good rep.

I think every is raggin on him because it looks like he took the easy way out. I use to weight 130 lbs about 1 yr and a half ago. Now at 22 yrs old I weight 155 lbs from working out and this is not on a strict bulking diet. And I am a hardgainer.

I would understand if you gave it your all and hit some impossible plateu. But can you really say that, at just 150 pounds or so.

But its your life and not ours and we see things like this everyday.

For example, did that 16 yr old rich kid who drives a viper, work as hard as me to get my car, no, dad bought it for him. Well good for him and good for you.

Please tell me you at least tried creatine and a almost perfect diet/training routine before initiating the use of these performance enhancers?

Regardless, the fact of the matter is that if you feel like women are looking at you after using steroids, they aren't. When I say they aren't, I mean they aren't anymore then they were before. For instance, do you think they notice you gained 10lbs of whatever, and 2lbs of that was water weight? No, they don't know anything. All they know is you have a certain charm coming off of you because you realize how much more confident you are now that you feel you have more size.

Whatever boosts your confidence, you should do more (unless it harms yourself, or others).

You're right, Zircon

You're right about the increase in one's "sexiness quotient" from being better-built. Same goes for having a good style. If you're naturally good-looking as well, you've got a way big advantage...

Based on the info I have on steroid use, it is indeed misunderstood -- but it appears you did your homework, and used them the smart way. Still, I don't recommend them, because I've accomplished the same thing using the proper (for me) training regimen, diet, and supplements. And I'm a bit older, too, so that made it more difficult to build muscle straight off.

In my case, the main factors for bulking up my extremely naturally skinny body with about 40 lb of additional muscle mass (almost a 30% gain) were:

1) Don't lift too often. Never train until the soreness from the last workout is gone. What worked best, and at one point helped me put on about 17 lb over the winter was doing a full body workout once a week. Yes, you read that right: once a week. Muscle is built during the recovery period, not while training, and it typically takes at least 5 days for muscle loss to begin.

2) Work out with heavy weights, and don't do too many sets. I was often doing 1-2 rep max sets, followed by a warm-down set of 8-12 reps. Sometimes I'd pick a weight I could lift 3 reps for a particular exercise, and do that 3 reps with the left arm, 3 right, 2-3 L, 2-3 R, 1-2 L, 1-2 R, etc. until I could not lift the weight. That would give the equivalent of a 7-9 rep set with my 3-rep weight. Great for smashing plateaus!

3) Keep feeding myself. Protein/carb drinks right after workouts and between meals, always keeping lots of protein & complex carbs in my system.

Very simple, and very, very effective.

True they didn't notice the extra gain. Totally agreed.

But what I'm saying is that someone on steroids actually has a paradigum shift in their brain that is caused by the steroids. It is not a cheeseball/Votaire/little engine that could kind of effect either. Steroids actully change your personality for a short time just like pot does. That is the cloestest analogy I can think of right now. Imagine trying to explain what it is like to be high to someone if they have never been high. They just won't get it. It is the same thing here.

Did you use the steroids in order to gain weight and get the gains you needed, faster? I realize you said you wanted to compete more, but I'm not sure what results you were looking for from the steroids that would allow you to be a better athlete.

I recently accidentally discovered an incredible way to gain weight. I went to the doctor three weeks ago for some allergy medication, got weighed, and I came in at 133 pounds. I went home, and for the next 8 days or so I ate two potatoes each day, every day. When I went to the doctor three weeks after my initial visit for a physical I weighed in at 138.8 pounds.

Keep in mind that I've gained only 20 pounds or so in the past two years, so 6 pounds in two weeks is incredible. You all might scoff at this and claim it was a scale malfunction. However it was the same scale at the same doctor's office, and today I weighed myself: 139.

I haven't had any potatoes lately but I'm going to start up again.

Clever boy! First off, no you didn't gain 6 kilos of muscle. You gained maybe 1-2 kg muscle and 4 kg fat and water. Second of all, I have to stay on my butt, because I'm a track cyclist (sprinter)...so you see, sitting on my butt comes with the territory :)

I'm not interested in a flaming war with you dude. But stop fooling yourself...yep you gained weight, for some people this is impossible. I'm quite happy where I am, was a great success, not dependant on any substance, so what's more to say? Only this, the way I'm trained you wouldn't last 10 seconds with me dough boy

Hey dude,

Tall trees get wind, it's that simple :) I think the main reason people don't like what I have done is yes, because it seems like the easy way out. No problem, I respect that opinion, and in some ways they are even right. I believe if I stuffed myself with food every single day for the next 5 years, I would have had the same results. But on the part of workouts, sorry guys you are WRONG. Yep so wrong. I train approximately 15 hours a week, 3 hours of that split into 4 extremely heavy weight sessions in the gym. THe rest is sprinting exercises and plyometrics. So with all due (or otherwise) respect, keep your BS about not working hard enough - I get up at 5 every morning and do my workouts to get optimal growth hormone and test levels. Do you do that? Didn't think so punk :)

As for being tested, yes, although I am in off season for 5 months. I decided to use this as an opportunity to build up useful muscle. Is it illegal? Yes. Have you ever bonked a chick in a public area? Thought so...is it illegal...hmmm. Lighten up, rules are made to be broken :)

PS Cheiradawg - this post not aimed at you - just a general discussion :)
