Looks are still the FIRST doorway that you have to pass through. You can't "game" or "show your personality" if she shuts you down at first sight. It's not that looks are everything. It's just that they come first.

Assuming you, in fact, actually have "social proof" in that circle.

Most guys here would likely get AMOGed at a Starcraft convention. No offense, just sayin'. You actually have to be alpha to get "social proof." And if you're alpha, it's likely you don't need pointers on how to get social proof in the first place. Of course, being "alpha" at a Starcraft convention is likely very different than being "alpha" on, say, an NBA court.

I have a girl in my circle of friends who is HOT. I mean she walks into a room and every guy stares kinda hot. I use this girl for "social proof" all the time and you wouldn't believe the looks I get from women who wouldn't sh!t on me if I was alone. Why haven't I tried to date her? Way too crazy, would make a terrible girlfriend.lol I did try to bang when I first met her but it never happened but now that I've found a role for her (social proof) we get along great and have a lot of fun together. I mean I don't take her out to bars or clubs or anything, I rarely go to them myself anymore. It's just when our group of friends goes out and does stuff she will end up being by my side most of the time. We go out for each others birthday every year (she started that, not me) and she pays for me on my birthday and I pay for her on her birthday. She also buys me Christmas presents every year. They're usually stupid things, but presents nonetheless. She did admit to me onetime that she "felt safe" with me whenever we went out (whatever that means). Other times when friends of ours got married or whatever she'd always be "my date" and she actually got pissed when I took another girl once and didn't ask her, it's like she implied that she was my date no matter what.lol I think it has a lot to do that I've accepted that we are just friends and never going to be anything else and now that that's happened she acts like my girlfriend in public. It's kinda weird but whatever.

I've had girls refuse to date me for all sorts of dumb@$$ reasons. Not being a single dad(yes she really only wanted to date guys with little b@stard kids), had a girl say she felt I wasn't "educated enough for her"(granted I only have a bachelors degree in Business Management while she has a h.s. diploma. She was only into dating guys with masters and doctorate degrees. I sh!t you not. That was her deal breaker.)
