"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

okay so i had a long weekend... havent slept yet. anyway... i was coming home from a friends house and at the bus station in the city (it's indoor - with lil food stores n stuff) - up above, i was waiting for my bus to go home and i was looking for a quiet empty place to sit. i walked past a good looking girl, 8/10 - black hair, blue eyes. pretty in my books and i have high standards! i sat right at the opposite end of the bench where she was. i was there for about 5 mins or more and i saw this guy at an atm machine getting money out and he was checking this girl out. he approached her and pulled out a camera along with some silly story that he was in arts or something... went something like this:

strange guy: "hello i was wondering if i could take ur pic? im in arts... blah blah"

girl: uhhh what! haha (shock and a bit freaked out)

i didn't really hear it all but he got two shots of her... he even said "please? another?" what a loser.

anyway, he said thanks, introduced himself, told her his name and she asked where he was doing this arts thing and he stuffed up making her think he was just some stalker guy, which he probably was, looked like a nerdy virgin to me... so he said goodbye and left. she looked at me and shrugged and came out with a small laugh. i didn't say nothing and looked away.

- i never really like being the chaser these past few years... i just hate it for some reason... but god damn my manly hormones took over. i still think im an idiot for doing it and breaking my cool or something. i haven't been in the game for a while... let alone ask a girls number. i've usually had them ask me for my number cause i was so kept to myself and didn't wanna chase.

so... five mins goes. i stand up confidently. walked towards her and sat down next to her. she looked over. i gently said; "what was that all about?"

she laughed and said "i dunno! haha ... he freaked me out i was like, looking at you thinking "come here and save me!"" - directed to me of course - (she made contact with my arm at that moment). she told me what he told her. she said she didn't wanna be mean so she let him take a photo. after explaining that to me i asked what she was doing up in the city. she told me she was waiting for her girlfriends so they could go to this fashion show. she then asked me what i do with myself.. i told her what i've studied (arts, computing, business... i did massage work with my mom for a while) she liked the sound of all that... she whipped out a "wow!" - likewise, i asked her what she's doing with herself.

she's working at a jewlery store and studying to be a school teacher. i looked impressed and let her know that, with a "you like kids eh? that's nice :) "
i asked her age... she's 18. i told her i was 22. she seemed to like that number for some reason cause she said: "oh really? cool" her face lightened up. she also asked about my accent... african/american... which i told her and she liked that too. i asked what her name was, i told her mine. she said she lived in **** and i perked up saying i live near there. she asked me where and i said **** and she was like "cool." i mean, it was cool... we were in the city and there's so many places... she happens to live close to me.

so i think that covered the conversation. i got up and said "well i'm gonna get going but i'll grab your number." she replied with a slight pause... in an exciting way; "... why, you wanna call me?" sounding flirty. i said; "maybe :p " (jokingly) she slightly paused again with a smile and said; "i have a boyfriend, if that bothers you...?" (didnt really get that part but it was somethin like that) - i says; "that's fine... just friends." she still paused with a smily thinking kinda face so i shoved in a: "i'd like to get to know you more :)" - i gave her my phone for her to type in and i was off with a "alright, thanks... nice meeting you. see ya." with a smile. she said her bye and i was off.

being out of the chase game for soooo long i was actually nervous and a bit red (i hope she didnt see) usually i'd pull it off with no problems... but i was even lost for words during the asking for her number part... with lil pauses and awkwardness.

right now, i still don't really even know if i wanna call her. she does have a boyfriend and she gave me her number... what does that tell you? she's either not happy with her relationship and keeping her book open... maybe even just wants a friend (but i saw some redness in her... she was very friendly, she liked me. you know how you can just tell :p ) - even so, if she does that, she's most likely to do it to me if there was to become something of it. could you trust a girl who gives out her number to guys when shes got a bf, hmm? - dodgy stuff. hell, i dont even know what to say really when i do/if i call. "hey there ****, how are you? it's that guy from the bus station that other day. blah blah blah, i'm thinking of heading up to the city again to browse around... hang out a bit... if you dont have any plans i'd like you to come. we can get to know each other more." did she give me her number cause she liked me? must be. she had a small quick think about it. i must of impressed her enough to get it.

god i hate chasing girls >=/ - i feel dumb for hitting on her. but happy that she saw interest in me before i even talked to her.

SORRY for this long post... i always do that for a short story. feel free to comment. thanks people. it's nice to be back again... been a while.

peace.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

She seemed intrested. Defo in a friends way at least.

Why she would bring up her boyfriend....Does that bother you? Thats a weird way for her to say it.

Give her a call. Ask her if she wants to meet up in the town or something. Make clear what she wants.

You did well if you have been out "the chase" awhile.

On the boyfriend line i would have said "Nah its more likely to bother him.;) "

i'm not too sure about the "would that bother you" line... all i heard was a mumble cause i said something before she could finish it. basically it was "i have a bf...sooo/is that okay." <== i really don't know. what it was but it sounded like she was asking permission with the tone she put on.

also, if she does want to go out and catch up... how's a walk in town for about an hour, then a movie to finish the day up?

p.s; what do you guys think about texting (phone msg) girls?

not that i care so much. but i was expecting it. i text her last night, 9.40pm and said: "hey it's *** from the other night. how are you, how was the fashion show?" no reply. i'm not going to call or text anymore. no big fuss anyway :)

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

Should've called her.

By the way, every good looking woman has "a boyfriend." Every one.

Let me ask you this: Do you think her current boyfriend cared about her previous boyfriend? Did he back off because she was taken?

Chicks don't break up unless they have another guy waiting.

yeah i agree i should of called. i didn't and i'm over it. i was in a situation once where a girl liked me and broke up with her boyfriend thinking we'd start getting into the next step. i, being the non motivated person i am didn't even go meet her when she practically begged to meet in the city to hang out. she even invited me to a beach party for two nights. i can tell you, i wouldn't have cared about her last boyfriend lol.
