Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Hey,

Long time reader, first time poster here.

So in my quest for plates i've come across one of my most difficult challenges to date and figured I could use some advice.

So the situation is like this...
I had a crush on this girl in high school (almost 10 years ago) and we kind of knew each other but never really hung out.
So fast forward 9 years, I friend her on facebook and we have about 50 mutual friends. I sent her a message on FB about 8 months ago with the typical hey how ya been, what are you doing now blah blah blah, she replies back with the standard, "i've been good, school was fun, blah blah hope you’re doing good"

well unfortunately I left it at that because of my AFC situation with my current gf at the time, I’ve been single for 5-6 months now and she is currently single.

So now basically i'm looking back and want to ask her to hang out and go from there ;)

The challenge is, we were never really friends, she is definitely in my league but I never see her and really don’t have any way to get to know her without reaching out to her via FB, and I don’t want to look like the typical creeper/orbiter. So my thoughts were to send her a message along the lines of Hey, it was good chatting with you last year, Hey I know this sounds kind of random but would you like to hang out some time? I don’t want to sound like a creeper or anything but from I remember back in the day you were pretty funny and I think you might be able to keep up with my sarcasm ;) have a good night, Mike.

I realize it’s a long shot since we don’t really know each other but I have nothing to loose and I figured it’s a little ballsy and as long as I sounds confident I’m giving myself the best chance.

So what do you guys think? And better suggestions?

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Uhm no sir that sounds pretty AFC.

Go find some stupid pic on her fakebook. Comment on how goofy/rediculous she looks. Bust her chops on her clothes. Ask her if she uses that 1983 retro look to pick up guys. Tell her you were planning on doing the same. Just keep it good funny and light hearted. Don't be cruel, just poke some fun at her. This will set you apart from 95pct of the chumps telling her how beautiful she is and how they wish they could be with her.

Then get a convo going about old times back in school. Make it a trip down memory lane. Then tease her about having a crush on YOU even if it was the other way around.

Skip out on all that prelude chump stuff you mentioned and just start off being sarcastic.

Any hooters, thats how I always did it. Worked pretty well.

Send a message like that, and you're guaranteed to be shot down. You need to drop the cringe-worthy AFC style and stop apologizing for being 'random' or 'sounding like a creeper'. You are inviting a girl on a date and apologizing for it. Let that sink in for a second. It's not like you've done something bad...so why do you feel the need to apologize?? This is textbook AFC behavior. If the girl likes you, she'd be excited about your offer. And if she doesn't like you, she'll say no in any event.

This is what you need to do. Start talking to her on FB again..exchange a few messages to establish some rapport and ask for her phone number. Then text or call her a few days later and say something along the lines of "Hey, what are you doing this weekend? Wanna go grab a drink on Saturday?" It's that simple.

Good point here. You're a man. If you see something you want, go fvcking get it. Dont' beat around the bush, don't overthink what to say, just get it.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
