What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Such happenings predate OF and the internet itself. Ex. Those who first recruited Traci Lords were well aware that she was much younger than her physique implied, yet that didn't prevent them from milking TL for every penny they could acquire, then claiming:
"She conned us... We had no idea she wasn't 18+ when we began casting her"
Washing their mits of her without a microsecond's hesitation, once the truth came to light. Our refusal to discuss these facts of life with our daughters("Anyone who's not with Ford or Elite, yet offering you quick cash in exchange for taking your clothes off, is someone to avoid. If you're serious about modelling, sign with someone reputable")is no less a dereliction of duty than failing to inform our sons:
