Nah, we're just indicative of the cultural climate that's swept over The English Speaking world. Reminds me of a chat I had with a family friend the other day... Dude's making 8 figures at Google, laments that he has no disposable income, yet is somehow able to afford the newest game systems, several streaming services, and dinners at the most expensive restaurants in town

Point out to this fella that his lifestyle choices deplete the amount of disposable income he has, and you're met with wails of "You just don't understand the Structural Oppression I deal with on a daily basis!!!"
