If 50% of 30 year old USA men were married and homeowners in 1950 and only 13% of 30 year USA men are married and homeowners now, then it shows issues with both the mating market and the real estate market.

Median age at first marriage has been increasing. Additionally, many younger adults aren't even getting married. Generation Z has yet to reach age 30. The predecessor generation, Gen Y/Millennials, is now in their 30s and early 40s. Millennials did not have a great track record in mating in the USA. A greater percentage of Millennials did not marry (though the majority have). Millennials were the first large generation where incel rates became obvious. One doesn't even need to be an incel to have issues in the mating market. There are plenty of men somewhere in the middle of the continuum. They aren't getting married but they aren't complete incels either.

Some men don't have an incentive to get married. Top tier men on SMV can enjoy sex with many women and all the sex can be non-reproductive. A top tier SMV man is likely having sex with many women who use a form of birth control. Additionally, a top tier SMV man may also be using condoms. When one or both partners are using a form of birth control, sex is unlikely to result in pregnancy. Top tier men can go into middle age getting sex without marriage and sometimes even without a committed non-marital relationship.

There are men that can't get much sex without a committed relationship. These are mid-tier men on SMV and they often have blue pill ideologies and exhibit beta male behaviors. Women are not very interested in committing to them longer term. They would rather chase sex with top tier men than have a commitment from a mid-tier man. That affects the market for marriages.

Women have been pursuing bachelor's and advanced degrees far more since the late 20th Century. They don't need marriage for their finances since they have white collar corporate jobs and these corporate jobs give them preference in hiring and in headcount reductions. Companies make a big effort to shield females from layoffs. In many mass layoffs, they can't protect all their female employees.

As an early Millennial, I observed females in my high school in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Almost all of them were preparing for a future with at least a bachelor's degree and decades of office work. I don't recall many females from my high school who prioritized marriage and babies first.

Once I got to college (2001-2005), I saw my female college classmates preparing for a future of corporate, white collar work.

Since Millennial and Gen Z females haven't prioritized marriage and have prioritized bachelor's degrees +, white collar work, and riding the penis carousel, there isn't much marriage until women feel a ticking biological clock. My social circle is a perfect example of this and I have a thread about all the "Last Call Babies" off of late marriages in the circle.

A lack of marriages and family formations has had some impact on the real estate market.

First off, a married couple often has 2 household incomes to use to buy a house. That's more money.

Then, a bachelor male doesn't need to own real estate. He doesn't need a single family house in a more suburban neighborhood with better school districts. He could buy a 2 bedroom urban condo/townhouse, but that's not that important. Owning real estate doesn't affect SMV that much. For owning or renting, the quality of the housing matters. There's an SMV difference between renting a mediocre apartment vs. renting an above average/top tier apartment. @Mike32ct has seen an SMV affect having mediocre owned housing vs. better tier owned housing, though @Mike32ct is likely more affected by his advanced Norwood scale hair loss and his mediocre height than his mediocre housing (height, hair, money).

the west countries and east countries are different. when the state has effective welfare and care for all people or at least for women then the women do not NEED the men. The need is what mitigates the woman's respect or lack of respect for the man.

a home is a very large part of smv in the east as is the entire financial assembly. in the west survival is for free and forcibly taken from men and given to lazy or women. the public charity is what erodes the smv of the man.

Yeah, modern men can no longer drop out of school in the 7th grade for a gig at The GM Plant that'll give them just enough cash to afford a small home on Long Island and the option of marrying the only gal they've ever bedded

Given that we now inhabit a world which, for all of it's flaws, is filled with prospects for advancement that were unimaginable to even men in The 1970s(At least for those who are game to invest in gaining marketable skills), the trade off we've made is overall pretty desirable

It feels like there’s been a cultural shift post-pandemic. The 2010s-2020 were very liberal/progressive in tone IMO, but now there’s clearly a growing pushback. The pendulum swung hard the other way because now you’ve got literal kids out here trying to optimize for looks and status despite not even hitting puberty. There's this strange blend of redpill and influencer culture, they're trying to grow up too fast...

The blue pill ideology has been the default male ideology going back to the early to mid 20th Century.

A blue pill ideology might have worked in the sexual marketplace for the GI Generation (1910s-early 1920s births) and Silent Generation (late 1920s-1945 births). It has gotten worse for the subsequent generations. With Gen Y/Millennials (1981-1996 births), the blue pill ideology bottomed out in terms of its effectiveness. As a Millennial, it would have been possible to have a blue pill ideology and get girlfriends/get laid, but it would have taken some special circumstances.

It's difficult for me to believe that some isolated stories are indicative of Gen Z (1997-2012 births) and Gen Alpha (2013-present births) are primarily red pill and black pill.

It has been my point of view that the red and black pill ideologies have grown, but the blue pill ideology is still the default, mainstream male ideology.

In the last 10 years, I think the black pill ideology has grown faster than the red pill ideology.

There's been a cultural liberalization that's been ongoing since The Sexual Revolution of the 1960s in the USA and other Western countries.

Liberalization from the 2000s-early 2020s looked different than the 1960s-1970s liberalization or even 1980s-1990s liberalization.

The sexual marketplace shifted over the years. Look at the changes from the Boomer generation to the Millennials and even Gen Z generations. A typical Boomer man who was able to have a decent sexual marketplace experience over the course of his life with similarly aged Boomer women would have been an incel/borderline incel had he been born a 1980s-early 1990s era Millennial man dealing with Millennial women in the sexual marketplace of the 2000s-present.
