Agreed. 5’10” is a neutral height.
A guy needs something else to go with a neutral height, e.g. good hair, attractive face or good build.
The thresholds for the something else are higher dependent on how a male starts an interaction with a woman.
On dating apps, women only right swipe on about 3-5% of men. 80% of men are considering physically below average. A "good build" in the real world might not be considered good enough to get into the 3-5% who receive a right swipe. The same might be true on hair/facial aesthetics too.
Men are judged by the harshest standard on dating apps. The standard for real life approaching is a little bit more lenient but still a higher standard.
A 5'10" man with a 65th-75th percentile face, 65th-75th percentile physique (not overweight but not shredded), and no balding/premature graying isn't a standout guy.
