Human rights activists in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia are pushing for a boycott of the Olympics or of Russian products such as vodka.

An Olympic boycott might not be the best way to go. Instead, let's turn the Winter Games into the gayest games in history.
Let the Russian police, if they want, arrest every athlete, every coach from Europe, North American, Australia and other forward-looking countries -- that includes you, Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico and South Africa. The teams should march during the opening ceremonies brandishing rainbow flags, holding hands, proclaiming that every one of them supports equal rights for gay and lesbians -- in Russia and everywhere else. Make it an "I am Spartacus" moment for the world.

Even the title of this thread is wrong. Pedophile groups (which in practice are groups trying to lower the age of consent; itself a tricky issue considering that even within the US that age ranges from 14 to 18) have been claiming for more or less forever that what they feel is 'natural' and hardwired into their brains. The LAW is about whether gender can be used as a legal discriminating factor regarding relationships between two consenting adults. Just because something is generally accepted in the more "educated" states and the more "reputable" countries (whatever that means) does not make it right. I agree with your concepts, except for maybe the bold. Well, I do agree on the money part. But I think that's done more for advertising by individual parties. In general, the notion that the government and media are intertwined is some pretty sketchy black helicopter stuff. Not sure I buy that, especially in this country where we fought for years to get away from that.

Yes there have been homos throughout history but there has never been a movement to push feminism and the gay agenda on the world like today. Homo's can be that in the privacy of their own bedroom, nobody wants to know what you or I do, so why are they making it other's business what they do. Marriage is between a man and a woman and was developed to combine resources of the two houses and create another family line... now you've got two men/women combining resources and what? Making a mockery of a 100,000 year old heterosexual tradition. It has nothing to do with god, love or religion and has only become such lately as its now accepted as 'the right thing to do'. Marriage is about coming together for financial gain and children.

You pretend as if the LGBT movement isn't promoting Feminism and hate, go down to DUKE university and you'll find a whole wing devoted to LGBT rights. There are usually a few hundred pamphlets outlining how modern men rape women and instructions for a girl on how to say NO and charge men with rape. Dude you think women will accept you and kiss your ass for being so progressive? Real women hate that sh1t as much as real men do, it goes against their biological imperative. My real wife and her real family are disgusted by the notion and find the support and media attention America gives this insane. Heterosexual supporting families are coming in to by your stuff and you guys are more concerned with equality, gay rights and feminism (a dead end). A nation must be 'barbaric' in order to have an economy (NO CHILDREN = NO MONEY). Once something stops growing, it starts dying and you are seeing the death of an empire, YOURS. American Men and Women are opting out of marriage, slutting it up, becoming single parents (the lucky ones), LGBT is becoming more popular in the media and people's resolve is changing. Someone else mentioned men are becoming weak, progressive and feminine... You won't be able to organize or fight back in the state you are in. Quality of life is quickly becoming a thing of the past, you even need to go on a website about women to learn techniques and 'insider knowledge' just to navigate the confused mess that women have become. I'll tell you what, most men in Russia and Asia have no problems getting women, they laugh at people like you. Everytime, I tell people here about sosuave, they look at me perplexed. Men have no trouble getting married and women know their place. Women here know that at 25 they are old and MUST get married b4 30 or risk alienating themselves from society. A woman without a master (husband) is at risk to the country as a whole. This is generally accepted as truth in China and you'd be hard pressed here to find the 'scientific proof' that gays are natural. I don't understand how a preoccupation with sex and perversion can be proven genetically without political backing. Pretty soon that same 'scientific community' will be telling us that gays are smarter and better fit as parents genetically. I'm sure you can also find genetic evidence to prove that pedophilia is natural if you have the right political backers.

You can have progressive America, I'd rather be in a place that has a healthy natural mindset. One focused on the economy, marriage between a man and a woman and making and educating children for a strong economic future.

I swear to god Jaylan, you are either a gay guy or a woman. No sane straight man would promote gay rights.

By the way Moscow is the most expensive city in the world and you'd be hard pressed to find an APARTMENT in Beijing under $300,000 (USD). So tell me again how these countries are worse off than America? Need I even mention Detroit.

Vancouver's 35th annual Pride Parade in Vancouver, British Columbia August 4, 2013. REUTERS/Ben NelmsHundreds of thousands of people (some estimate over 600,000) attended the 35th annual Pride Parade in Vancouver on Sunday.

As has become the norm, the huge crowds — supporting the LGBT community — attracted several high profile politicians.

It's actually kind of fun to see our politicians at these types of events. Most of them really get into the spirit and come sans their usual conservative apparel.

Some like Liberal MP Dr. HedyFry came with ahem...very little apparel.

Fry is always a fan favourite at this event. Here is one of her 'grand entrances' from 2010.



B.C. Premier Christy Clark was in attendance after skipping last year's event.

NDP leader Thomas Mulcair also got into the spirit.

Mulcair was joined by B.C. NDP leader Adrian Dix, dressed in NDP orange, in front of a sign that read "NDP studs."

In previous years, men and women were behind him holding signs that read "I love Dix."

It appears that a good time was had by all.
